I own a 9500ix and I'm very familar with its operation. The ix dials down the sensitivity based on speed. The fact that the vehicle is sitting still pretty much invalidates this test for the 9500. I would only consider getting rid of my ix for a V1 as those two are the best out there. The V1 shows you when it gets multiple signals and points to the direction they are coming from which is where its advantage is over the IX. I have had the IX save my ass from radar that was 2.5 miles away!
@claya91: what do you have to say to the people claiming that the sensitivity of the 9500ix changes with speed? That kind of makes sense that it wouldn't pick up anything when it knows that it's not moving.
did u read the manual? the ix reduces its sensitivity greatly depending on your speed...soooo when you are stationary the detector doesn't detect buillshit.
Dude, you have the ix on auto mode. Its sensitivity changes with your speed to minimize false alarms. And you’re aiming behind the device and at a different angle than you did with the V1. This test is inaccurate. I have a 9500ix. It has saved me from a RADAR ticket twice doing 50mph on a 35mph PSL. The 9500ix picked it up before I even reached the top of the overpass. Giving me time to slam on my brakes. But I do agree that the V1 is more sensitive. Neither can save you from a direct laser hit.
@TheGixxist So yeah, it's pretty obvious you do law enforcement related work. I can see why you'd think that. I'm not going to lie, if you are a skilled enough operator of radar you can beat them sometimes. That's a fact, but most of the time, cops aren't selective enough in I/O operation to avoid triggering RDs up the road. In addition, the rest of the time C/O radar is used and we'll know you are there a mile away. Though not foolproof protection, V1 has paid for itself.
Allright, just a couple of corrections for all of your comments. First off, i doubt any of you have ever ran a law enforcement radar. Just to clear up a couple of things, I just got a kustom golden eagle II law enforcement radar and I also have this same exact bushnell as well. I got the LEO radar to see how far my bike could be reached. Unfortinutely i do not own a V1 or a 9500ix as they are too expensive. This test here is very legit but most Leo radars arent as quick as the bushnell.
Bought a V1 after reviewing the 9500ix after obout 1 year. this V1 beats all i ever seen up here in the mountains. they use the stalker dsr not a dsr2x dont know what the difference is but i can pick them up around curves at 1.2 miles. they also use a K band radar gun. V1 ROCKS
make more videos what the hell i have noting to do but drive with my 9500ix and come home watch peoples videos and their videos are running out!!!! AHHHHH
@excelongt He had it on highway mode, so it should disable that-
Variable Speed Sensitivity: the 9500ix also uses GPS to measure your speed, and automatically varies the radar strength for optimal radar protection......Of course if you prefer maximum radar protection, this feature can be turned off by selecting Highway mode
So your shooting the V1 directly in its rear receiver and the 9500ix directly in its LCD screen. Test is worthless. Spin the 9500ix around and shoot it.
Valentine is only rated over the Escort 9500 series in one area and that's laser and as I understand its at less than 7% over. The Experts aren't using the toy store radar guns. I own several radar detectors and the V1 isn't one and this video hasn't convinced me otherwise. I own a NSX and a SL500 and I havent received any tickets and I can personally verify that my NSX is slower (top end) than the Supra I traded in 10 years ago to buy it.
Really; Your Bushnell radar speed gun that's designed for sports activities ($75). I'm up against gear like the Decatur Genesis II Directional Police Radar w/ Dual/Single K-Band Directional Antennas - Law Enforcement Direction Sensing Radar w/ Stopwatch Mode ($1995.95) or that ProLaser III Speed Detection LIDAR (battery powered $3449.99). I use my Bushnell radar gun when installing my radar detectors and I've never had an issue with an Escort getting the signal (usually false from that gun).
I've been on here watching youtube videos on the Escort 9500ix and Valentine One for about a year now. I live about 100 miles east of nashville and up here where i live we dont even have Redlights. not one. So i guess im gona go with the V1 because up here they just bought 5 new chargers and use Quick Trigger. by the way anyone driving through hwy 111 is a speedtrap mosty for Clay you know where FALL CREEK FALLS PARK IS IM SURE. IM THERE
I don't understand how this could be an accurate way to determine accuracy. I don't doubt the V1 is more sensitive but at such a close range i doubt the laser gun's beam has any range to spread and become detectable.
This doesn't simulate conditions you would have vs a real law enforcement officer using a gun, they aren't sitting in the car with you.
So lets see...your radiating into the rear antenna on the V1. On the 9500ix you are radiating into the front anternna from behind. Under these conditions which one will have more misses. Hmmm.
Your logic is wrong. The V1 is more sensitive than the 9500ix, therefore, naturally, it gives off a greater amount of falses. Also, while it's filtering may not be quite up to par with the Escorts you have to understand that it is alerting to REAL radar. Not randomly going off.
Good video, I have heard that if the radar source is super close to the detector they kind off flip out and don't alert sometimes. Have you ever quick triggered 20- 30 ft away just to see if you still get the same results.
also if auto learn was on it would stop responding to that signal in your location.

No this isn't a scientific test but I think you are confusing laser with radar. This is a K band *radar gun*.
claya91 2 years ago
would you say the 9500ix pickes up better on ka band than v1 i live in tennessee
dakota38585 2 years ago
Absolutely. 9/10 times the V1 will beat or match the 9500ix.
claya91 2 years ago
Many times badly beat it.
claya91 2 years ago
Oh I misread your post. No. The V1 is generally more sensitive on Ka.

K band

i don't think that this is a good comparison because the v1 has a rear anntena and the escort does not. that's why the escort is at a disadvantage

This is no scientific test, however the results were similar to what you would normally expect.

claya91 2 years ago
Incorrect. Only in auto mode will it adjust its sensitivity according to speed and auto sensitivity only reduces the sensitivity of X and K.

... and its in Highway mode.
claya91 2 years ago
This doesn't prove anything. The V1 will alert to a lamp post.
