thank u very much but im nigerian and i would know and this is not a common practice in nigeria. This happens mainly if not solely in akwa ibom state in the village and rural areas. There are no other places where this happens. If people are called witches for anything in nigeria they are just usually avoided but the people of those rural community. This is an extreme case as a result of the church in the area. Takecare.

My goodness i am so excited, a few days ago i wondered what had happened to you. The only posters and flyers we have is the documentary on Youtube and my work on Youtube. If you direct people to watch the film on youtube that speaks a thousand languages.

Good question how do you get the shoe boxes over to us? First of all, where are you writing from? Here is an idea, get the children to write a simple letter to your country's airline with many signatures of children and adults.

The letter is simply requesting that your country's national carrier (airline) transport the shoeboxes for free to Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria (that is if they have a Nigerian route) as Christmas presents. The children might even reqest ot see the local airline manager for this purpose. If for example that doesn't work. Get a business man or the business community to pay for the freight to Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The shoeboxes should indicate gender, content and age.

The age range of the chldren are 3 months to 15 yrs old. There are presently over 200 children at the centre. Even if you are able to get over 200 shoeboxes we still have some of this children on the streets. Get big cardboard boxes and neatly put the shoeboxes in for onward transportation.

Now, we just opened a new  international airport at Akwa Ibom State.Let me know when the shoe boxes are ready. Then i'll be able to advise you on the point of collection. Lots of parcels get lost in Nigeria.

It will be a shame if after all ths effort we lose everything. Now the final destination of this shoeboxes should be the Childrens centre. The shoeboxes will therefore either be dropped at Calabar airport in Nigeria ( a sister airport) 100 kilometeres away or Akwa Ibom Airport in Nigeria.

Why don't you or the kids do a video response to my video on the shoebox appeal. That is also something you can use to show people how serious you are. Pls drop a Santa Clause outfit.

That is just incase i can't make it home to Nigeria for Christmas from England and i have to delegate that to someone else. Pls Pls tell the children, parents and friends not to send money. It was such a blessing to receive your comment on the possibility of shoeboxes with toys for the children at Christmas 2009. That will be wonderful! You know what, go ahead and get those shoeboxes ready for Christmas. We will also accept clothing. The children are from ages 5 months to 15yrs old. There are about 200 children now at the centre. Agreed. About a 100 yrs ago we had this same problem with my people. Then a 100 yrs ago we were throwing twins away into the bushes and abandoning them to die. Our forefathers thought the birth of twins was a bad omen.Then a Scottish missionary called Mary Slessor came to my tribe and stopped the evil practice. There are only 4 staff at the centre. Yes a lot of the chidren need toys but they also need clothes and bedding materials. I will be visiting the children again later this year. I passed out when i saw the first part of this documentary. and then ABC News showed today this same act being condone in the Congo. My heart is breaking for the children. I have two children of my own and can never imagine walking away from them. my heart broke for mary #4 and the mom with her the two kids. I'm baffled, i'm ashamed and i will contact stepping stone to help. I want to hug some of the kids and let them know that they are loved. God help me, i can't erase this! how dare them!!
