I had a dream not too long ago about this song; only the final version on their first album. I dreamt I was comforting and hugging JD as he cried after recording the song. No child should ever have to carry that much pain. When your child tells you this kind of shit, be a fuckin parent and give your kid some justice. Don't let them suffer anymore.
Both songs are both heavy in a metal standard and a emotional standard yet the demo sounds more darker and sickening. Even more sickening because of Jonathan being molested by some sick fuck as a child and that justice has not ever been returned.
The lyrics suddenly make a bit more sense... the soft part where he's speaking as little jon, and then the mean heavy gut wrenching terror of a riff, in which the lyrics support and paint the picture of big mean molesting fat entity in a wife beater and house slipper, menichal smile, and belt in hand. So powerful.
I own most of Korn's DVDs, all of their CDs, a bunch of their pre-98 live shows, and all that. I've read a bunch about them and I know a lot of shit. If anyone wants this demo, message me and I'll send it to you. I have it in HQ. Also have live shows. Jons pre-94 voice was way different, and he was great from 93-97, until he got vocal lessons in '98. Watch Blind from '93-'97 and then watch one from '98. Dramatic change. His voice weakened a LOT. You can hear it in the "Are You Ready!?"
The original version of this song was called "Follow Me" and it wasn't by Jon Davis. He just added in the parts about rape. Just like "Blind" wasn't written by him, and he co-wrote Faget. My Gift To You was originally called "See Thru" -- That song is on Youtube. Same song, different lyrics. JD turned it into "Molested" and then later "MGTY" for Follow the Leader. People who are arguing on here, just Google this stuff... Multiple sources beyond Wikipedia will tell you this.
in this version of daddy it was anger missed in with sadness now the new version of daddy was missed in with sadness guilt and sorrow i prefer this version he owned the monster who molested him in this version
personally, i dont like the long chorus on the album version. and this one is realy heavy. but is there any reason why they changed this one (like blind that was originally from john's old band) ?
kinda funny but seriously. is there anyone who heard bout thoses 2 groups (sexart & orgy)? they could just have leave it to john if anyway it wouddnt be seen as their song. like, almost no one will know this song from sexart im pretty sure. they'll all see it as korn's starts with neidermeyer's mind demo tape
you guys are idiots ok. Daddy is about a neighbor sexually abusing JD and that his parents didnt believe him. And Kill you is about his step mom. Damn its very simple look this shit on wikipedia damn.
no,it's NOT about a neighbor that'sa rumour based on misunderstanding mr rogers lyrics, the last song on their first three albums are ALL about his step mom,he even says this song is about his step mom on the interview on my page.
listen to the lyriccs. "Mommy, why did Daddy touch me there?" it sounds pretty clear to me that his dad molested him, not a neighbor/friend. but jon says its a woman, so thats what i believe. this song just makes me have second thoughts.
no, it was his step-mom, jon says so on the interview on my page, people think it was a neighbor because of mis-understanding of the meaning of mr. rogers song.
the picture in this video is how i remember my first impression of korn... it was 1994 i was 11 years old and i was this shirt at a bunch of stores on the boardwalk in wildwood new jersey and i didnt know anything about them at that point...by 1996 they were my favorite band.
"I think JD's father did rape him, but he didn't want to be judged and stuff, and didn't want people to know his bussiness so he told everyone a female family member raped him"
Dude, if you mean that interview on ur profile page they are talking about the song KILL YOU, that song is about his step mom, and it says on the interview its 1996, thats when life is peachy came out, and kill you is in life is peachy
NO! in the interview they are no longer talking about kill you, vanessa says I thought you never wanted to relive DADDY, and jon responds immediatly " I don't It's(DADDY) about my step mom and I hate that bitch"
no he doesnt mean like that, munky said that kill you was like daddy, so vanessa thought that Kill you was about daddy, so she asked the question and JD said, no its about my mom and i hate that bitch, u should watch the interview again and listen
no! you should watch it again and LISTEN, vanessa did not think kill you was about daddy, fieldy said kill you was in the same realm(vein) as daddy, and then vanessa asks about jon not wanting to relive daddy, and jon says DADDY is about his stepmom.
no, they switched to talking about daddy, idiot, she said I thought you wanted to moveon from daddy, and he immediatly said without pause,it's about his step mom, stupid, which means he's talking about daddy, fool!
I think JD's father did rape him, but he didn't want to be judged and stuff, and didn't want people to know his bussiness so he told everyone a female family member raped him.
I dont mean to laugh because this song has a lot of meaning and stuff and korn is my favorite band but why does he sound like a little sheep. He even stuttered like a sheep at one point.
Check out Ross Robinson working on this demo (during studio time paid for by the band Heavy The World in 1993) in "The Making of Dog - pt 10" on HTW's channel. RR bankrupted HTW with his hi fee &time wasting, while pludering their ideas such as 11-halfstep downtunings he later applied to other bands. He then reportedly got korn a record deal with this demo, making himself quite rich in the process, while never helping HTW, the band who paid for the time, at all.

Yes, the band name was "Sexart", the founder was Ryan Shuck from "Orgy", the had some problems because Mr. Davis "Stole" the song from Shuck, funny.
