Believe me, I only had required numbers, Gina's, Alan's, Dana's, Beverly's, the youngster with free HP Ups when you beat him. My point being that Dana already gave me my free Thunderstone and I only had 3 badges. Just pointing out what I've noticed.

@Bl00dyBizkitz the hero from gold and the one from silver arent different persons, you decide how is called by choosing what version of the game you play, and the rival is the other one. The default, however, is that the hero is Gold (Gold Version is the real storyline) and the rival is Silver. Look it up for it in bulbapedia

For fire stone and items like that, I am pretty sure they tell you where they are, so just read the messages and if there are numbers corresponding to routes, they either wanna give you something or fight you.

Oh and I am planning on getting a Growlithe when i get further too <3

you may be able to get a stone by rock smasing rock and you may get a stone or something else.

Also, I recommend doing the celebi/giovanni event before the elite 4, cause his team levels are around 40s, for a more enjoyable fight. The other 2 pokes he has are surprises.

If heartgold is anything like it was in the past, you'd have to be in kanto, and talk to bill's grandpa and show him the pokemon that he wants to see. You may have to start with several other pokemon... If you really want that fire stone before jasmine, you would have to resort to trading with other versions... cheap, but it saves time and its easier.
