Crayola Model Magic is an air dry clay, I haven't heard it can be baked after. But use another clay - like Sculpey or polymer clay - and bake it, the outcome won't be as fragile as with the Model Magic.

do you only need one packet of white or two?

One packet of white is more than enough for 1 elf, at least for the one on the video, it's pretty small. I used a packet of 4oz(113g) Model Magic, and can easily make 3-4 elfs from it.

But mix colors and you'll have even more fun outcome :)

Those are awesome! They look a bit inspired from the Rodal[h the red nosed reindeer old old stopmotion animation tv special. I loved that special.
