What a bulshit. They assigned some 30 sec to Copernicus who had mathematically proven that the planets are moving around the sun and not the other way around. And the rest of the movie is about losers who were busy proving again that he was right.
None of it makes sense unless you include the fact that the Sun itself IS MOVING in orbit 'around' the centre of the Milky Way (and the Milky Way itself is moving etc, etc...).
Orbits are not elipses.
Think of the orbit of the Moon 'around' the Earth. When you add in the fact that both the Earth & Moon are moving together 'around' the Sun it becomes obvious that the Moon's movement through space is not an elipse. To get a true understanding you must always add the higher frame of reference.
