"Turyeah" and "Orryeah" don't have any particular meaning, they're just phrases to get pumped up. Sort of how (cliche) kung-fu guys have the whole "Hiyah" thing.

Yeah but what are they yelling? Those are syllables with consonants that I'm hearing and it must have a translation. Like in faggot martial arts when you yell kihap or kiai, it translates to something like spirit! or eggroll lotus sunset ohio! So spill the beans- what does "turyeah" and "orryeah" mean?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
haha wow i can't believe this is real. hey do any of you know what it means in anime and shitty japanese video games when the characters say "TUUREEAAHH!" or "OOREAAHHH".. what does that mean? because it's seriously fucking gay and it's the only word that comes out of their mouths.

I'm just curious, but what is it about English speakers using the word kawaii that annoys you so much. It is part of the same process that creates loan words in languages. Are you against the diffusion of languages or just against diffusion of certain languages?
@toppojiijo I know you said this about 2 months ago, but it bothers me too. What bothers me isn't the fact that they say it. It is used as Gratuitus Japanese. Simply saying a Japanese word in the middle of an English sentence isn't the same as speaking Japanese. It's just someone being a Japanophile and saying it because it's cool or "Japanese" to do so. I honestly wouldn't mind if they said "kawaii" as its own thought, but saying. "OMG! That is so Kawaii!" Annoys me to no end.
Yes, it is gratuitous; so what? It's hard to use a foreign word that isn't yet a loan word without it being gratuitous. Japanese people do the same thing with English and other languages, using them to sound cool, and quite a few of them become loan words that way. But when a English speaker does it with Japanese they get called a "Japanophile"? Gratuitous usage is a natural part of language diffusion, and it is the ethnocentric and culturally defensive individuals that are most annoyed by it.
@toppojiijo Again, it doesn't really bother me that they use Kawaii, but a vast majority of the people that do use the word use it out of context or sometimes just wrong. Saying everything under the sun is "kawaii" or using it in the place of every positive adjective imaginable and, probably most infuriatingly, pronouncing it wrong and saying "kowaii" instead which means scary which changes the meaning entirely. I use Japanese loan words, too, but when I can't describe it any other way. (Cont.)
@toppojiijo For example, I'll use the word "moe" (mo-eh) to describe a girl who is cute, but the kind of anime cute that otaku fawn over or I'll use the word "otaku" not as the generic anime fan definition, but the insulting "over-bearing geek" definition. We already have a word to describe kawaii. Infact, we have quite a few. When people say kawaii, they aren't trying to create a new loan word, but trying to sound as Japanese as possible without actually learning the language.
I don't think your being consistent with your first statement, and I think your being bias. Lets try an exercise by altering your first statement - [Simply saying a English word in the middle of an Japanese sentence isn't the same as speaking English. It's just someone being a Anglophile and saying it because it's cool or "American" to do so.] This would offend Japanese people who use English words regularly. And yes, there are plenty of Japanese words for the loan words but we use them anyway.
There are actually countless English loan words for the Japanese language while the same cannot be said for English and Japanese loan words. Yes, we have them, but they aren't nearly as used as the Japanese and English loans, therefore, the analogy can't be reversed. Also, I use moe and otaku because we just don't have words to decribe, "Cute in a way that reminds you of anime" or "over obsessive geek who is mostly into anime and other anime items" in English. We have plenty of words for "cute".
Language diffusion is like firing blindly: only a few words actually stick, but that doesn't mean it was wrong to ever use the words that didn't. The availability of the same or similar words is only one factor, and language diffuses despite their presence. You claim it is inappropriate to use a foreign word that you already have words for, but that isn't true for the Japanese is it? I have heard Japanese girls say kuuto (cute) even though we have plenty of native words for it,
and they do it to sound cute or cool, but I'm not bothered by it. It is annoying to you, but to me it is a healthy cultural exercise that promotes multiculturalism. You say the analogy cannot be reversed because Japan uses more English loan words, so are you saying gratuitous usage of a foreign language is OK as long as your language is already littered with it anyway? so, where to draw the line? You prescribe these complex rules for appropriateness: why do you have to be so uptight about it.
A) I don't speak those foreign languages so I have nothing to complain about. (Though, I have spoken to a bilingual individual (Spanish/English) on the subject of random English words and he feels that if you already have a word to describe it in your language, use it.) B) It sounds dumb to me. Especially the context in which they use it. Saying "OMG! Sasuke is so super kawaii!" simply annoys me. C) I never said all people who use the word annoy me. Just those ignorant to the original context.
Strange, I don't find that usage inappropriate. How did you reckon it's appropriateness? Weren't you complaining about context? The subject is a Japanese manga character....
Eh. I guess it just annoys me. Being that that sentence (and various other versions of the same) are said all the time in the corners of the internet I travel. I also hear people ending said sentences with "desu" regardless of language and it just rubs me the wrong way. I mean, they also tend to use it as a general term for anything positive whether it be "good", "great", or even in some instances in the place of the word "very". I don't know. I guess it's just me.
Well, you know... As the series progress, she commits even worse crimes, on a regular basis, to her fellow humans and completely loses her regard for the sanctity of human life... Provided there ever was such a sanctity to begin with. Human beings are, after all, not fit to define the value of human life as we are naturally biased on the subject... I'M IN DESPAIR!! THIS BIASED WORLD HAS LEFT ME IN DESPAIR!!
I really don't know why they changed people who came during this scene. Chiri should've been sitting with her 3 tea ceremony club members, then Kafuka and Mr. Despair came.
That was hilarious!

The live video footage kinda kills the anime humour. :P

the actual pics of strawberry, cake, and the live action for the blender part really makes this scene even funnier for some reason, lol

The anime did this scene so much funnier than in the manga. Seeing Chiri crack like that is priceless.

I really don't know why they changed people who came during this scene. Chiri should've been sitting with her 3 tea ceremony club members, then Kafuka and Mr. Despair came.
Whatever. I want that cake too!

They redid the scene in Zoku I think (Maybe it was Goku?) with the other lineup :D
