  • I used to rule at Space Ace

  • I remember watching this on tv when I was six. Great to see this again...

  • @sygo7g It's not luck really, this and dozens of other animes were just so popular they were all over the TV networks in the 70/80s, to a certain extent, I know it was the same in places like France or Spain.

Dunno what the problem with US is, I suspect: A) fear of 'foreign' competition by 'locals' (Disney, Warner etc.) B) "moral attitudes" problems with USA broadcasting standards.

It's weird for me to hear this was broadcasted in US at 10pm, I use to watch it at lunchtime, right after school :)

  • Game was awsome. Ending was really cool. Tough sometimes because you had to coordinate multiple sequences (usually took alot of quarters to figure it out)

  • Looks like a Socs...

  • The Daphne Emulator for PC can ply this game. If you can figure the setup.

  • Could this be the first time Lupin III was ever shown on Western television?

  • @frrgyfudghog

    Don't think so!

Both the 1st and 2nd Lupin TV anime series were shown regularly on Italian TV since 1979 to great success, as well as the film "Secret of Mamo", released on the same year in cinemas.

    I should know: I was there ~_^

  • Played this game where ever I could find it. It was hard to find even in 1985

  • Then came season 2 of Video Power starring Stivi Paskoski as the host, Johnny Arcade, then Nick Arcade and G4's Arena.

  • ????????????¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿

  • i had no idea such a game existed! i gotta find a copy!

  • Now this is pure 80's.

Just try getting a kid today to play a Don Bleuth game.

  • @c3section This is Hayao Miyazaki, not Don Bluth

  • I remember playing this back in the day. I wasn't all that good at it, but with laser games, it was always fun to try. Starcade was my favorite show back then. I love watching old clips from that show.

  • I guest that game is the very very very time Lipin the ||| was introduced, noticed, and seen in the USA!

  • @SONICSATAMJAMER77 I Don't belive Lupin the Third was officially released here even in Syndication till after the 80's

  • played at solano mall

  • I love Cliff Hanger!!

  • I was a HUGE fan of this show!!!

  • The 80's rule!!!

  • Where can I get a Cliff Hanger ROM for Laserdisc?

  • I played this game at Clancy's Drugs in Edina, MN. Great game. Hard to tell when to move, but still tons of fun.

  • I loved this show as a kid in Fla, very first show I saw Geoff hosting!

  • This was the first to be a video arcade game show, and set the blueprint for similar game shows like Video Power, Nick Arcade, and Arena. The show was used to showcase brand new arcade games.

  • Is this an LD game?

  • Yep.

  • Man! I wish they bring back the show. Geoff Edwards was a remarkable host there and how fun the program was. Maybe they'll revive the show. And in occasions, popular celebrities can participate to make it more fun and delightful.

  • You'd think King Of Kong may have started a revival, eh? Here's hoping.

  • God im old!

  • Best Starcade ever! (Of course I'm a bit biased, seeing as how I was the winning contestant...)

  • At least gma 7 got an ideal to make a filipino version of lupin after they watching this on youtube of cliff hanger ld arcade game.
