@sygo7g It's not luck really, this and dozens of other animes were just so popular they were all over the TV networks in the 70/80s, to a certain extent, I know it was the same in places like France or Spain.
Dunno what the problem with US is, I suspect: A) fear of 'foreign' competition by 'locals' (Disney, Warner etc.) B) "moral attitudes" problems with USA broadcasting standards.
It's weird for me to hear this was broadcasted in US at 10pm, I use to watch it at lunchtime, right after school :)
Game was awsome. Ending was really cool. Tough sometimes because you had to coordinate multiple sequences (usually took alot of quarters to figure it out)
Both the 1st and 2nd Lupin TV anime series were shown regularly on Italian TV since 1979 to great success, as well as the film "Secret of Mamo", released on the same year in cinemas.
I remember playing this back in the day. I wasn't all that good at it, but with laser games, it was always fun to try. Starcade was my favorite show back then. I love watching old clips from that show.
This was the first to be a video arcade game show, and set the blueprint for similar game shows like Video Power, Nick Arcade, and Arena. The show was used to showcase brand new arcade games.
Man! I wish they bring back the show. Geoff Edwards was a remarkable host there and how fun the program was. Maybe they'll revive the show. And in occasions, popular celebrities can participate to make it more fun and delightful.

Then came season 2 of Video Power starring Stivi Paskoski as the host, Johnny Arcade, then Nick Arcade and G4's Arena.
