what type of gases accumulate in these stairwells? Is this an over dose of carbon dioxide?
It would be great to see Tim run up the Eiffel Tower as the stairs are not enclosed To film such an event would be impressive too. we could follow the runners up the stairs with a zoom lens, usually we see so little of these races. what a view for the runners as they pace up to the top : )
Great Job! You got up so fast your camera girl couldn't even get ready in time! LOL!
That was a totally insane pace! Extrapolating your time to other events, it would have been a sub-9 minute time at the 75 story US Bank Tower and about a 12:18 time for the 103 story Sears Tower climb. Those should be your new goals. LOL!
Congratulations!!! Wow! But, also, Ow! It definitely took you longer to get back to your vibrant self after this stair race over the last one. I don't know if I like the stair racing if it causes so much pain. Does it help you, in the long run, with your Olympic goal? If not, maybe you should pass on the next stair competition! ;-) Love, Gypsy XOXO
This looks like a 5 minute max effort - around VO2 max

The Discomfort at the end of Race is Because of the Stale Filthy Air in the stairwell ?

Well aside from the pain and trauma accumlated during the event, yes, the air in the stairwell is very harsh on the lungs and trachea.
