I would rather hear a review from someone who DOESN'T own the product. If someone's getting hand units left and right to review, they aren't going to be partial. Take Wilsontech1's kindle fire review for example. He was way too satisfied with it because he didn't want to admit it to himself: it clearly sucks
Even when I don't buy products outright and I get them sent to me as a review unit, mainly I deal with smartphones, I typically use that device as my personal device for a certain period of time, therefore even if I didnt buy it, I can still give an honest review as to what its worth to the end user.
I wil disclose that so far, I've had a few review units/copies of stuff already. All of them were genuinely good products. I used them for at least two weeks before passing a judgement.
I would think that a review unit would provide a more honest review. If someone actually had to spend money to buy a product, they'll most likely not want to even think of cons. They bought /that/ product, not the competitors, that one. It can easily skew opinions without even consciously meaning to.
@MyPhoneGoezBeep Agreed, although as a reviewer myself when I think about especially with new and aspiring reviewers when they get that first product sent to them they are so full of joy that perhaps to show thanks to the company that sent them their appreciation they may not go over the cons or minimize the cons. Although again I agree with your point and Ill expand it on further saying as the reviewer gets more an more review products, they will be more confident to share what the cons are.
Wow these videos are getting more and more annoying. Instead of like 10 2 min vids how about 1 or 2 longer ones. He brags GE does like 50 a week but most are like 2 mins! Lame.
The cheap items, for me, sucks. Intel 3000 HD graphics? I game! I need a decent video card to run stuff at 1080p. Valve games run the best on my system.
@fakemanoan You could try Nvidia's line up of the 500M Series (GeForce 525M, 540M, 550M, etc) or if you're more of an ATI (Now AMD) fan, the ATI(AMD) Radeon 5650M is also a pretty nice card
ill spend the money on a tower instead. right now you can make a comp with the new z68 boards and a 2500k for like 350ish...run 6 hdd in raid 0 and then use intels srt caching on a 40g ssd and you will have a beast of a computer for under 600 bucks.
Chris... I love your videos.. but It's SO ANNOYING when you explain things so much.. I know you are that way.. but we are not stupid and we all know your smart... try to stop the bad habbit. p.s. if you don't know what I'm talking about try to watch your own videos a bit more.
Laptops are getting really cheap, you can get a decent laptop for under $400 which is insane! Like you said this makes the more expensive laptops looks expensive like the Macs. I hope Apple lowers there prices when it comes to that time.
Although I use a laptop as my main machine(quite an old one too), the next one I get though I want to be a desktop. My laptop's battery is dead, and the charger might die if placed incorrectly. I'd have to get a new monitor too though, I love my dual monitors. and my 17" Ye Olde LCD(quite old as well) would lose it's primary monitor position.
press 2 repeatedly. It's not only funny for what it SOUNDS like Chris is saying, but, the fact that his face and mouth barely match the sound in question.
Anyway, in relation to the video.. laptops are always an enigma to me.. even though I own 2, I never understand why anyone would use such a "fragile" system as their main, or only, computer. I always think of them as ancillary to a desktop machine.
@kurisux I guess its because some people need to be more "mobile" than others. Take the university student for example. If they live on residence, not all housing complexes have that much space for a desktop computer. The "road warrior" the business person who's always on the road might be better off with a laptop.
Yes, but for the "normal" person who is at home and never moves the machine, it still seems odd to me that they would choose to spend the extra money on a laptop rather than a desktop.
Then again, non-techy people and their purchasing habits make absolutely no sense to me, so any explanation will still just make me think "WHY though"
@kurisux I see your point, for that kind of person, a desktop would really be more beneficial since the internals can be upgraded for years providing how well backwards compatible new hardware will be, I guess for the person who prefers a laptop they would want to use the computer around the house and not in one physical location, just a thought :D
@livetechaustralia tell me about people in the usa bitch about video games being $60 we pay $100 i went crazy when i herd the bitching about $60 on a new game
I purchased a laptop with a 17.3" display a few months ago. I purchased it because of the beautiful large led hd display. The problem is I didn't think about the portability. I was using it in a class it was taking and it literally took up the entire desk. I still love the display but it def is a pain to lug this thing around.
