Really? Why are you fighting? A Mac is for someone who doesn't want to do a lot of technical and open source stuff on the computer but just wants a computer that is easy to be creative with. A Windows computer is for someone who wants more technical stuff but not as much as Ubuntu and also wants an easy to use interface. Ubuntu is for a person who doesn't want all the easy to use stuff and loves open source programming.
@kenanscott24 You're absolutely right, because we all know only professional, high quality things come from open-source software on a free linux distro.[/sarcasm] Get a clue.
If you can't afford it, that's one thing, but don't say that free open source apps are the only way to do anything professional. Your way is not the only way.
I'll continue using my 17" Macbook Pro, Adobe CS5 Design Premium, and Cinema 4D, because I seem to be doing just fine...
@harrier125 I was building PCs when your teenage ass was in diapers. So, you sir, can go fuck yourself. All I stated was that Kenan's way wasn't the only way. I have what works for me, it has nothing to do with having a certain level of intelligence with a PC.
@oKBo dude, have fun with that, it sounds way way too awesome! and btw....macs are superior to pcs anyways, i would know. I've tried them both, mac does not need virus software b/c it's unix base is powerful enough to resist them (virus makers cannot make viruses that are strong enough to destroy unix, it's really difficult, or so i've seen online)...so macs are evidently superior :) So have fun with everything :)
@kenanscott24 what in the name of christmas is ubuntu, other than a christian worship band....cuz i've never heard of anything called an ubuntu, other than of course them....
I disagree somewhat. Having triple-booted my MacBook, and using OS X/Windows/Ubuntu Linux I have to say OS X and Ubuntu are by far the best (I only use Windows for a few games), but unfortunately Ubuntu just isn't user-friendly enough yet (and I'm still new to it). OS X is a polished, and gorgeous version of Ubuntu, with software inventions of its own. However, when it comes to open-source apps, they are indeed the way to go.
As a full time minister involved in a lot of media I find it ridiculous that you would say a mac is better than a PC for preparing worship projects... or pretty much anything. "Open source" puts the whole argument to rest for me. If you don't know what I'm talking about, that's tragic....-_-;;
I'm saying it's a good thing. Open source puts the whole argument to rest. I don't need to argue about Mac and PC anymore, they're both expensive and overrated. Open source is the way of the future and mission. It's cheap and great. If they don't know what I'm talking about, then that's tragic. Do you understand?
I myself have used LiVES and Cinelerra, I don't know how familiar you are with them. There's a new one called OpenShot which seems to work well for general users.

@kenanscott24 You sir, are stupid. Mac's OS is built on a linux kernel...

@oKBo Anybody who is very serious about computers and is a professional would not use a Mac but Ubuntu. Ubuntu runs the majority of open source.

@oKBo Fair enough, if you're a dumb ass with PC's and don't want to put time into learning how to use them, buy an expensive Mac.

@oKBo As I said, if you're shit with PC's buy a Mac, you don't need to be ashamed.
>Implying you built PC's well.
Haha, oh wow!

@oKBo That's not a real counter-argument, thus I've won.
Good game.

You think open source... is a *bad* thing? What's wrong with you?

For media stuff, open source pretty much sucks. If not, give me a good video editing software that's open source...

I must say I'm surprised, but could you perhaps direct me to some examples of what it can do?
