Thanks for posting this! I saw RH the 1st time around and right now on SoapNet they are in 9/79. I remember the 1st time they showed the new opening when it originally aired.
When I saw it, I just had to go to NYC and ride on the Staten Island Ferrry. I went that year and I even got to help the captain steer the boat! My friend and I were coming back & it was empty and some guys were harassing us so they invited us to come upstairs. It was so cool!!
ah, my childhood in NYC. I would come home from Kindergarten, watch Sesame Street, straight into Ryan's Hope and then All My Children. And now, I'm all fucked up...
Five years old and watching Big Bird as a warm-up to plotlines about who's "making love" to whom and which alcholic this and heroin addict that, and...well...er...Susan Lucci....
Nothing that stands out, though I never saw its entire run seeing as I was in school during the 80's and we didn't know how to program the VCR until after it was cancelled.
There were LOTS of verbal catfights among Delia/Maggie, Delia/Jill, Nancy Don/Lizzie, Maggie/Katie, Rae/Jill.... how many actually got PHYSICAL - I can't recall.
Ever? If it was anytime 1983 or after, the addition of "Loving" could have been a factor. RH used to show at 11:30 (right before AMC) in Seattle area until LOVING, then it was pushed up to 3:00 following GH so they could give LOVING RH's former spot. If I remember, the cancelled RH for at least few years and then brought it back (maybe even on an independent network) to broadcast the final months.
A lot of ABC affiliates either didn't air this show or dropped it in the mid/late 80's which is a shame b/c it really was a good program... esp when you compare it to the awful trash they call soaps today.

It didn't need the cat fights and "bad" stuff...I found the stories to be interesting and attention-keeping without the caddiness...jmo, though

I love the music. Was the score and its season variations ever released on a compilation album of television themes? :)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
You'd know this was the opening of some cheap daytime show like RH.
