I think the movie was kinda boring and it didnt feel like "wow this is orginal or epic" The whole soldier tech and spacce ships was too much like the space marines from Alien or C&C and the story setting is too much like Dances with Wolves.
The 3D was cool but its just visual, I just wish it had a better storyline becuse it felt flat and had a lack of "This is new".
Knowing? With Cage? Jesus! You and Roger Ebert need your heads examined for loving Knowing more than Avatar. Oh wait, Ebert's dying of something. So, that explains his problem.
Just kidding. Well done review. But, I have to agree to disagree.
Excellent Review. It's refreshing to hear an adult review of this film on Youtube. The IMAX 3D version is the best way to see this film. It's unfortunate that you may not be able to see Avatar in that way, it is truly amazing in IMAX. Great Work.
great review. I agree you don't need your imagination, because they made the film too real. It did not insult your imagination either.. so you feel so immersed and it became a truly virtual experience.
Yes...it is well worth trying to see it in 3D. I suffer from motion sickness easily...and the first couple of minutes I worried..then...not one problem and the 3D aspect was the gourmet frosting on the cake.
Thanks Tim, I am gonna watch it soon. On a second note, I think that most movies take away any form of imagination. You simply consume the images and can't think beyond the scenes you see then f.e. in a book where you put the book away and reflect about it.
I agree with you Tim, I thought the movie was excellent.
I thought the story of it was great. It's a story that makes you think and sucks you in. This type of movie isn't my cup of tea usually, but I really enjoyed this one.
I say it in 3-D and thought it was just amazing. It was my first 3-D experience in a movie theater and it was excellent. It was by far the most realistic CGI movie I've seen yet. The display was beautiful.
I wish it would of been a little bit shorter, thats my only gripe.
The wow factor was there for me with "Knowing" I hadn't really thought about this movie much, but now...WOW! Your review has me biting at the bit to see this one.
Knowing?!?! You "wowed" and Knowing?!? That has to be one of the worst films EVER! As if nicholas cage wasnt going downhill enough he had to do such a terrible movie like knowing!
It was done in such a way that I didn't notice what was CGI and what wasn't. Maybe with a better eye you'd pick up on it but I didn't think it was an issue.

Bad review, Avatar is whitehating PC-propaganda with only great special-effects.

You need to see the 3d version, it's a MUST! Especially in IMAX.
It's implemented very well and not as nauseating as the other 3d films.

Nice review. I've heard alot of hype, and it's good to hear from a real person...

I saw the 3D edition. Though I agree the CGI was awesome, the story was lacking. If not for the great graphics, I would have fallen asleep.

I'd presume you know that James Cameron (director of Avatar) directed Aliens?

No, I didn't know that and that explains the Weaver part even better. Too cool.

How badly crowded was it? I want to see it in 3D (it will be my first experience with that) if I ever get dug out from the storm.

Where I saw it not much of a crowd no.

I hate over usage of CGI. Would I not like this because it seems very CGI.
