Can this phone play music thru the speakers? I am switching to this from a Samsung Upstage because the upstage is a crappy phone, but the one thing I like about the upstage is that it plays music thru the speakers, and if I have to go without that to get this phone I won't be too happy.

Also, one more question. The American model is less expensive and has better technology than the European model, which I like. However, I prefer the appearance of the European model, with the black diamond back and the smooth black finish. Is it possible to get the Sprint/American model with the European shell/exterior case?

it plays music, tv and youtube app sounds through the speakerphone speaker. the sound quality is ok. not wonderful, but its ok. also, from what i've read, the diamond back cover makes the phone feel larger than the sprint version.... i love my touch pro :P lol

dude....a phone that will talk to me, i think i gotta have this, really torn between this and the bold, the bold has a killer display, not crazy about the touch screen. work dries my hands out, my mp3 player is all touch and sometimes i have difficulty with it, BUT this is a bad ass phone and it may have to be something i deal with!

Sprint would rather have the iphone in it's lineup not because they think it's a better phone, but because it will sell more. Problem is, iPhone has exclusive rights on certain carriers. Carriers make deals like that because they don't want to compete based on service but rather who has the hot phone.

Carriers know that consumers are stupid enough to sign up with a carrier only because it's a cool phone. The solution would be that USA be like other countries and use SIM card for any phone.

BTW, you are wrong about the Diamond being the "same exact thing, minus the keyboard". The Diamond also lacks the card expansion slot (for whatever stupid reason), so you are stuck with the 4 Gigabytes of memory inside the phone.

Chrome is ugly and a fingerprint magnet! I hate the focus on reflective coatings on electronic devices. Microsoft just recently revised their Zune hardware, switching to a shiny case from the matte finish of the 80. I dislike a ton of visible fingerprints all over my stuff.

Anyway, it looks like the Sprint version of this phone is a lot more responsive in terms of the TouchFLO 3D navigation. I watched a video of an overseas version of the PRO, and the menus were really laggy.

you can use wifi for free yes. Only the Sprint EVDO network requires additional money.

You people need to realized that no matter how many mega pixels the camera has, pinhole camera pictures with the lens the size of a toothpick will never match the quality of a digital camera and will always suck. Phone camera megapixel is just an advertising scheme and I wouldn't base a 300$ purchase on just the fact that it has a cool camera.

I've owned this phone for a couple of days, and the one thing that BUGS me about Sprint TV & Radio, is that every 5 minutes you get a message popup asking "are you still there?".. in order to keep the stream going, you have to click the circle button on the front panel. Otherwise, it shuts down. It makes listening to radio at work completely useless.

Reviewers are ignoring this fact, so Sprint TV fails in my book.
