  • 1/3rd of this video is advertisement... lame!

  • Give them more time...you guys always do that for the best talks

  • great idea, shabby video..

  • didn"t see the bike because some one was in the way!

  • the bike looks heavy... i am not sure i would want a bike that is silent. the vroom vrooom has a cool factor and more importantly causes lame drivers to notice there is a bike next to them so a lane change is not safe yet.

  • @dreamssofblue Dude during the high Rev's the bike sound like Fighter Jet . check it out , its better than the outdated noisy Vroom Vroom ..

  • That bike looked like the bike from the movie "Blade"

  • those fairings look like shit!

looks like some sci-fi 80's crap....the concept is cool and electric is instant torque but that mesh spot where the legs go is hideous

  • @unclesonnyonutube MegaForce movie bike?

  • @3089280288

oh god, i hoped nobody would ever remind me of that movie.

seriously the cheesiest movie ever... I remember at bike week a few years back some guy had a replica of that bike and he got laughed at so hard. He thought it was the bees-knees.

  • @unclesonnyonutube Ha Ha Ha!

  • wtf supercharged ??? this is electric

  • Play on words bro.....Charged, electric....

  • AWESOME!!

  • Bet it beats my '09 Ninja 250R on the track by a hair :-P

  • bet the batteries in it make it really heavy so tossing it around on a really twisty track would be more difficult. maybe your ninja could win :P

  • dude i love steelcase so fking much but they're too expensive

    -hero

  • me wants one

  • twat

  • 0-100 in 5.9 seconds you retard.

    God i hate stupid people.

    Obviously, you are illiterate.

  • Gurupurkha is from U.S. means he measures in miles per hour (mph) 0-60mph = 0-100kmh.

    Stop insulting people.

  • I know he's already been flamed, but I agree.

    Learn to read, son.

  • Comment removed

  • shame we couldn't hear the whole speech on this.

  • Why is everyone still trying to go electric? The air powered car (and engine) is already available in the market. It is so much better in so many ways. If you don't believe me just search air powered car by guy negre of mdi.

  • That's the friggin problem of this talk...... they barely talked about the new technology and how it's different from others x-x

  • If they knew that the only had 3 mins you'd think they would have talked about their product instead of themselves

  • It's an educational seminar, not a sales pitch.

  • to educate us about their child hood??

  • Childhood or "background", take your pick.

  • woot.

  • Sales pitches are sometimes educational =D I'm definitely more interested in the technology involved.... and more details about how economical it is...

  • They weren't given much time, I agree. They are somewhat pushing a buissness proposal. If they had focused on some technical aspects of the Bike, how it works, how it's powered, I'd be happier. I am building an electric Bike, not a cycle. Once this project is one I'm happy with I plan to make a Cycle, then a car. I do hope people like this discover changes that can be implemented by people like me making rediculous toys.

  • I'm a huge fan of TED. I watch each new video on my Iphone as soon as they come out. I am also an attorney who specializes in people injured while riding motorcycles. I am also a motorcyclist and fan. I am so excited that your efforts are directed to that beautiful bike.

  • What the hell was that? They didn't even get to talk about the cycle. And that is not supercharged in a litteral sense.

  • I would have liked to have seen more.

  • i like it

  • ...........that's not SUPERCHARGED

  • Beautiful looking machine, and also pretty on the inside =P, wish they talked about it more.

  • Yeah, um I wanted more of the Motorcycle?

  • That was short:(

  • fucking shit, that motorcycle is beatiful

  • for anyone that doesn't want to bother with google - the car costs 70 grand, a range of 150 miles but is fully charged within 2 hours.

  • freaking NERDS they're so smart!

  • i woudn't say nerd since nerd means ugly, socially undesirable, but has a close interest in something scientifical/technological.

  • I would really like to hear more about how they came about designing their electric motorcylce.

  • need further review on this new concept. more info pls!

  • the fuuuu?

  • gogoeco will do a full story on it, if the demand is there. It there a demand for an in deapth story on this bike?

  • watch from 1:48 from 2:15 for the actual presentation of the bike. Otherwise........

  • what was that.? no details about the bike.please post full video without the advert....please

  • The actual video lasted 2 mn and 10 secs. I am so mad , I am about to eat my keyboard . This video was supposed to be the most interesting video of the week. GRRRR!!!!!!

  • yeah TED, bring em back!

  • only 3 minutes? crap

  • yeah, i'd like to see them come back and talk more about the design process and whatnot

  • add on to my comment under...

SPEND THE MONEY FOR THE PURPOSES THAT NEED IT. not to have a nice atmosphere for your already "Educated = well established = Wealthy to the rest of the world." people.

I understand that you need a stage... and a gathering to do the TED talks but insted of making huge TED headquarters... get more people involved ONLINE/ SCHOOLS/ ADVERTISEMENTS

    GGGG G G G G G G G G UNIITTTTTT

  • 3:00 well he said you go there to interact and shit,,, but i didn't see any one talking, not even one person interacting. All that I viewed is a bunch of "educated people" watching some ted talks in expensive chairs and nice TVs...

I could be wrong and these "educated people" that get together do talk about "improving" our world and even if they do find good solutions to large scale problems.

But there is no need for all of this... the internet is open to much more people and can grasp more

  • I really would like to have heard more about that motorcycle

  • TED has obviously started a campaign to attract more speakers so that they can entertain us with new ideas while we sit on our fat asses and take it all for granted.

    Everyone chill about the advertising.

  • Well said hillsad. If most of the people writing negative comments put their energy to come up with unique ideas we could be out of this recession much faster .

  • TED's standards are starting to slip.

    I'm disappointed with this video.

    I learned absolutely NOTHING.

  • Fuck me, what was that?

Disappointing TED, even the information on the side is more devoted to advertising yourself.

  • What the hell was that. Give them more time.

I've been disappointed with TED lately

  • I expected this guys to talk about specs, pros n cons of their new bike...

    am disappointed...

I agree...promotion of ted is taking more time than

the very point n reason for TEDs existence

    i.e to share the ideas.

  • How much?

  • outof this 3:53 video...

    1:58 was a TED talk

    1:55 was not.

  • why was this ted so short?

it was a pretty good idea and they should've given it more time...

  • Typical. Don't talk about the practicality of the prduct, the technology and the rampant availability of it.. Infact don't let them talk about it.. Just tease with a 20 second unveiling in a 3 minute talk. That's very twisted of you TED.

  • i will buy that in a second B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!

  • One of the best YT channels

  • i like the idea of electric powered cars and motorcycles but have you got to plug it in over night from your power mains. what if a kid pulls out your power supply.

Plus people be falling over leads that are running to your car on the side walk then they can sue. Unless you got your own drive way or garage you can plug it in over night.

  • @jellyboy123: honestly though, I find things like acid rain a bigger problem than plugging in your car. Don't you think so too?

  • if consumers accept the electric idea, infrastucture to charge electric vehicles will follow on the fly. consider that the first people to use combustion engine powered carriages had to buy their gasoline in pharmacies...

by the way, do your kids actually unplug your equipment over night?

  • "what if a kid pulls out your power supply."

When my uncle was young, he would go around the neighborhood, sliding under cars with his friends and removing necessary parts from the cars. In the mornings, he would hear the cars 'choke' and stop working. Mischievous children are not a good excuse for considering a particular technology impractical.

Solutions will come with the product. The first bridge was not a suspension bridge, but over the years humans improved upon it.

  • i couldnt help but love a silent motorcyle. id just sit there and make the "zoom" sounds myself! haha

  • Why do they only give em 3 minutes? This looked cool.

  • Is it just me, or was that bike almost completely silent? If it is, I hope no one buys it out of the danger that a noiseless motorcycle is to drive.

  • i guess there will be some elements making a suttle "engine" noise in the commercial version for safety reasons.

  • That problem is easily solved by putting something like a card between the wheels. Kids do it with bicycles make it sound like an engine.

  • responsible and safe driving is the key, not noisy vehicles. or do you really expect people to jump out of ones way as soon as they hear ones combustion engine rumble near?

  • Being dead silent = safe? You're no genius, I can tell.

The cars don't have to jump out of the way when they hear a motorbike, rather be made aware that there is one nearby and might be in one of their blindspots.

  • You can tell, do you?

A responsible driver will not drive his motorcycle into anyones blindspot. Although your point on vehicles having to be aware of each other is a good one, i insist that this can be achieved by other means than by noise.

  • I want that motorcycle.

  • gay

  • gtfo kthxbai

  • Your comment was a waste of about 4 seconds and hopefully reading this will waste another 5 seconds of your incredibly important time.

  • Brat.

  • That's nice.

  • all motorcycles could be solar no one likes to ride in the rain

  • good point...

  • Hey for that matter - why aren't the hoods or roofs of cars solar panels? Like on calculators? Could it be the people that profit the most from the auto industry also profit the most from their investments in oil? You know...RICH people? If they somehow could tax executed greed the worlld might be nirvana

  • Yeah, bigger car companies buy the patents for that kind of stuff, and toss them in a drawer in some basement.

They intend to keep the public on their knees, while they squeeze as much out of oil as they can.

  • I think a huge issue in the USA and the world is we are so busy playing blame then looking to those very institutions we blame to correct itself and solve the problems at hand - environment - economy - instead of yielding the most powerful instrument we have which is the fully participated in democracy, complete with mindful spending and support and voting from the citizenry. How many people that believe that still have new cars? Its a question not an accusation.

  • ted talks about himself too much

  • Well done, the technology is here for every one to see, no more excuses, get those electric cars out in the road. No if's buts or mabys the electric engine is the future( wether the low class like it or not)

  • "supercharged" means something very specific. This ain't it.

  • well, that was useless

  • They didn't say much at all. Kind of weak.

  • its not that impressive..

  • The actual presentation went from 0:19 to 2:19! Nowhere even near 3 minutes :-(

  • Only 3 minutes??? Oh TED, shame on you!

  • Supercharging an electric motorcycle?

What? Lets see it on the track!

  • Supercharged?...oh wait, i get it....clever.

  • they said so little it was hardly worth posting

  • Hi we're rich kids, here's a bald guy on an ugly heavy slow moped which I will now stand in front of.

  • Ugly? You clearly have no clue about design. That thing looks awesome. And it's innovative, instead of using the ancient technology of internal combustion, which has been outdated for like a 50 years.

  • Right, swearing. Effective way of making people ignore you and whatever you have to say. Very intelligent.

You also seem to have no grasp on geography, since Germany is not where I'm from. But then again, you probably never left your island.

Why do you even watch TED videos?

  • No no you ignorant fool you have it wrong again, tsk. More ignorant stupid assumptions from you again, tut tut. You swamp germans are a stupid bunch it must be all the flooding has rotted your tiny fucking brain.

Now off you go using words like "awesome" and not knowing design from ugly. You should look up unsprung weight for a start but I'm not here to educate you I'm just rebutting your ignorant stupid remark and the xenophobia you later excreted. Die monarchist.

  • I'm not wasting any more time on you. I refuse to lower myself to your level. Go have internet arguments with someone who cares.

  • You started this with your oafish ignorant remarks, clearly you are now embarrassed by your stupid ignorant and frankly ludicrous misstatements. I don't accept your apology you should learn some manners you dumb fuck. Don't do it again you worthless pompous uneducated child.

  • Wow, dude, nilbud. You have serious social issues. I hope you don't act like this in real life, but I suspect you do.

Also, about manners, you are the one who is using swear words 3 times in every sentence. I have not used one swear word, nor have I called you names.

I have great respect for the Irish, their heritage and their music, but you are clearly not one of those Irishmen.

Have fun alienating people, my friend.

  • Thanks for proving my points.

    Goodbye.

  • You are my favourite internet troll by far!

    Hilarious and quite possibly insane!

Sir you need your own talk show! The level of offence that you spout is absolutely phenomenal!

  • whats wrong with you bashing on germans? Like it was our fault, jesus...

  • It's just the slack jawed ones you rolled down the hill into the swamp. They didn't die they went on to become south african and use words like "awesome",

  • May you find peace of mind

  • Comment removed

  • Exthighting!

  • TED! Why limit it to 3 minutes??? Would love to see more of that bike.

  • awesome bike! i would love to have one or at least ride that thing. on a side note: when will there be another good length, worth while, entertaining TED talk? it seems the talks haven't been what they've previously have. 5 stars for the awesome bike but why so short? i figured there would be a discussion or explanation of the concept.

  • TED = GET SERIOUS,

Please be reasonable= MORE THAN FUCKING 3 MINUTES, U left me no choice BUT to use profanity there.

BASIC TED = TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT & DESIGN.

  • TenShady, Your comment is completely unnecessary.

  • .....

  • commercial almost as long as the video?.. not cool.

  • Want one!

  • 3 MIN of that?

Why TED? Why do you guys hate electric stuff?

Please allow more time for great stuff DAMNIT!

  • Why did they only get 2:20 minutes? This would have been a great presentation.

  • TED wtf, you will give some tard who wants to talk about how music effects houseplants a full twenty minutes but when it comes to something as cool as a electric 150mph motorcycle and you give them 2:20 to talk.

    Weak sauce TED, weak sauce.

  • I couldn't agree more. You get loads of fifteen to twenty minute talks on a totally boring subjects, but they only give two minutes to some fantastic engineering and design.

  • The point of this video was...?? We heard more about their pasts than we did about the bike.

    Who edited this?

  • Very quiet! Ok, I am going to need one of those motorcycles. So where can I pick one up? ;O) ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • loud pipes save lives...install a speaker system so they know your coming!

  • lol, we should all get a couple of bass bins on our scooters just for good measure.

  • Want more on this!

  • damn I really wanted to see them talk longer about this. it looks so cool.

  • yeah finally an interesting one 3 fucking minutes

  • what's the point of bringing them in for 3 min? waste of time. i actually was interested in the bike. what's with all these ads for TED.

  • god damn this video was short you guys suck for that, but just make a long video plz?

  • They only have 3 minutes and they spend the first 2 1/2 of it talking about themselves? Weak.

  • What the hell? Here's the bike, bye.

  • Very good, but I don't like how they differentiate engineering and design. Engineering is a particular kind of design. What I think they mean when they say "design" is "art" or "industrial design".

  • I fly RC Model aircraft, a lot of fellow RC flyers have gone electric but not me, because i love the sound and smell that a real engine makes, to me i just cannot get emotional about an electric motor, i feel that an electric motorbike would be the same, it's not just about performance but the whole package, i love engines and i think that most bikers do too. Of course with a motorbike aswell as the sound you get an intense vibration as the engine screams at amazing RPM's none of this here....

  • less noise, less fatigue, zero exhaust... yeah, you summed it up pretty well. the fact that you view those as negatives is pretty silly, honestly.

if you want the bike to make noise and rumble, put a speaker and a transducer under the seat. that seems a fair compromise in order to not destroy the planet that supports our existence.

[assuming the production of this bike is also environmentally friendly]

  • Yes that is true, that is what i want, give me an electric car or to comute to work mon fri 9-5 that is not what bikes are at least to me.

I don't expect you too understand it's just the way i feel and im sure at least 50% of bikers would too, prolly a hell of a lot more than that actually...

And im afraid the speaker would not work either, it's the ENGINE that matters, it must also play up from time to time to allow me to tinker and get my hands dirty lol, i know it may sound weird to you lol

  • why would that sound weird to me? i've been riding motorcycles and bikes for 15 years. i know that it's fun to tinker and build. i also realize what is at stake. you can have just as much fun tinkering with a different kind of engine if you get over what amounts to your fear of change.

  • While I can understand that a loud engine rumble can be a very nice experience, I can also imagine how cool it would be to have a silent engine, and just woosh through the landscape.

  • Fully electric bike would be pretty quiet though, and if there is one thing I know about bikers is that they all agree that "Loud Pipes Save Lives" - because it's already easy to miss a biker when looking over your shoulder and not seeing a car.

So they should probably install some sort of a sound emitting speaker that makes engine sounds, at least at first, while we're getting used to quiet roads :)

  • Maybe they should point their pipes forward. This is a biker who is smart enough to know the loud pipes adage is BS.

They need a basic science class with the Doppler effect as a focus.

  • amazing stats though, why not compare the 0-100 and charging cost to other products?

  • It's a pity they weren't given more time to talk.

  • um they could have talked more about the motorbike and left the kodak moments for some other time...

  • a CONTENTLESS pwoerpoint intro, sayign nothing, doing nothing. the video is about the cycle, why waste any time, who wrote this

  • Make a car damnit!

  • Been done already many times over

  • i gotta get me one of them's

  • I've bee hearing about these guys for a little now. It's a really nice concept. More of a novelty right now. One thing is the range. Many people get bikes to go cross country, which this can't do right now. If there was a way to cut down on their recharge time, I think it would attract a larger customer base.

  • Many people get bikes to go less than 150 miles a day, for which this would be fine.

  • Coool talk :)

  • good bike but bad presentation
