i'm thinking about getting an inspiron 17 laptop or whatever the latest edition is come end of december. the only games i play is world of warcraft and the elder scolls(+mods and add-ons) games. i have more than $3,000 to buy it. i also want good performance and stuff left over for when i'm NOT playing games, i go on the internet all the time and whatnot. so will it work? please respond

Nice video, but i think it is a bit misleading.

While you do get just about playable framerates in "WoW Vanilla" for soloing or maybe doing 5man instances, your framerates will crash hard when coming to outland/BC and it is just unplayable in WotLK. Don't Expect more than 5-10 FPS in outland or 0-7 in WotLK on a Atom/GMA950 combo.

update i did the hiegen uncleansed Dance fight on both characters one on desktop one on mini 9. did the dance almost flawlessly using 2 seperate computers, disc priest on mini9 no one died did it like a pro.

i have the top end model w. 16 gig running XP bought a 2 gig ram stick from newegg for 24.00 shipped to my door. runs wow perfect, i duel box my ret pally (on desktop), and disc priest (on mini 9) in raids and in bg's just put disc priest on a follow macro and hotkey all your powers so you dont have to think. keep 1 hand on each keyboard. only downside is mini9 has no F1-12 keys aside from using the little Fn key to use F1-10./ this is a bummer cause i use F1-4 for group member targeting

I haven't tested this method. I actually installed WoW from the CDs and just had it install on the external drive.

I've been told that you *can* copy the full WoW directory from your computer to an external device and it runs just fine on other computers. I will test this soon and I can certainly let you know.

You can drag 'n' drop a fully-qualified installation of the WoW folder to an external drive and it will run just fine, no installation needed, despite what I say in this video.
