Who was it who said "..I knew Doris Day before she became a virgin"..?! (I detest posting such things, as the written word can be misinterpreted so easily), but it was my understanding he said it in a friendly and non-mean-spirited way.
That said, Doris Day is most definitely one of my faves. Funny thing is, I just didn't realize it. (ha) I suppose that's how it goes with the true pros out there, they can be taken for granted. She was/is the Best..and don't get me started with Pillow Talk!
I fell for this woman when I was a pre-teen. She is just stunning. Fab recording, still love it today (as retirement age looms...!) Nice compilation of pictures - thanks for posting.
Great song written by her son. Poor Doris was ripped off by her husband. When he died she found she owed an awful lot of money. Her son helped sort her cash problems out.She was offered her TV show payed off her debts with her salary.I love this song.Im sure certain radio stations banned it in USA!
hi i am a man , i am 42 years old , not even born when this song was a hit , living in the uk , born in 69 , but had great parents , who introduced me to great singers , sinatra , martin , davies , day , and many , many others , its funny , i was a teenager mid 80s , but i prefer the old school , music , nothing can compare , thanks to my parents , sadly i lost dad last christmas , but he introduced me to bing , and jolson , etc ,,, miss you , but never forget you ..
Thanks the Davidjoy. I often joke that `I don`t FOLLOW trends; I SET them` well this certainly seems to be the case as just after I wrote my earlier comment young Doris Day became the eldest person in history to enter the top 10 album chart with a set of previously unreleased recordings!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! A great sexy track, risque when released ''Make love to me'', adulterous suggestions etc. Rock Hudson managed to live in the gay closet for years, which makes this all the more poignant. Doris Day was a funny, bright actress and singer, ill served by Hollywood creatively, although the eponymous movie with James Garner wasn't all bad..
@therealkindle That was a very nice comment... I'm currently reading the Untold Story of the Girl Next Door so I find it bizarre but cool that your comment suddenly came in...
Thanks for uploading. I had trouble finding this until I saw your video. I've just discovered Doris day, & she stunned me as to how expressive, funny, charming, & gifted she was. She had her own show which I've just seen a repeat of, & it's wonderful. I don't like TV, & I'm not a big fanof films either. But if we had more of what she presented, & less X-Factor, I'd get a TV Licence!

A brilliant record. I can't believe it didn't reach no. 1 in the United Kingdom charts.

It's hard to believe someone didn't know this was Doris's song. Suppose just a younger generation. One of the best singer's ever
