i think you're right that some jokes get lost (especially in austin powers :D) but i think half baked has no really sophisticated jokes, so they're mostly the same in german, what means that there isn't a big difference between the german and the english versions. but i mostly watch films in both languages... i think there are also movies which are better in german.. and subtitles are annoying :P
