I can see how this may be scary to people who didnt grow up in the 80s, but times were more innocent to say the least. There is a a sense of sentiment in this commercial, from a McDonalds commercial mind you, that people wouldnt know how to make now, or even grasp,. The 80s were the peak of many things, sad but true.

From someone who grew up in the 1980s, I can tell you in a very simplistic statement, that people were not as paranoid in general, and it was simpler. Broad statement and the 80s were by no means perfect, but I would take them over 2011 in some categories.
