  • Brian Boitano's better :D

  • I was there!!(: and I was there today

  • Scott Hamilton still has the cleanest jumps I have ever seen. He makes figure skating look as easy as tying your shoes.

  • I met him twice, once in 1980 at a LA ice show when Tai and Randy skated.I met him many years late at Sun Valley. He was alone in the lobby and I went up and asked him for his autograph. He gave me a dirty look and muttered something but still signed the book.I said thank you and left.No one else approached him at that time. There was a security man with him tho.I thought, boy,he got up on the wrong side of the bed today.I enjoyed the ice show tho later that night. This was Labor Day wk end,1991.

  • So let me get this strait: he had childhood illnesses, won 4 consecutive National titles and then Olympic gold, started his own skating tour, was inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame, fought testicular cancer and brain tumors, wrote his own book, and now at the age of 52, is doing backflips. They guy did something right.

  • @blahblahblahblahbl91 And he still had the cleanest jumps ever seen... An amazing man and athlete

  • I saw the date on this and was like, "What!? YES!!!" He's still got it.

  • I saw the date on this and was like, "What!? YES!!!"

  • OMG, Scott Hamill is the BEST! I saw a Biography special on him and I can't believw what this man has gone thru and yet still bounces back and still is able to do his passion.

  • Scott Hamilton is a Legend.

  • Just goes to prove that age is just a number! He's truly an inspiration for the generations! Nicely done, Scotty. You'll always be the best.

    Thanks for the post, too...

  • what a great man he is and amazing skater he is still! you go scott !

  • he is 10 years older than me exactly. I would love to be able to do this when i am 50.

  • he is so smooth and graceful

  • Sobbed the first time when I saw this on TV, sobbing now....the man is fearless, such an inspiration, thanks for posting!

  • LOWLY COMMENTATOR, jbdranger? Are you kidding? Scott Hamilton is the KING of ice skating. What an appropriate tune, "Miracle" for this performance. Yes, he's post 50, but he's also a cancer survivor AND survived a brain tumor.... and still he does flips, spins and jumps in a way that makes it look EASY.

When Scott Hamilton comments, I sit up and listen. This guy knows what he's talking about.

BRAVO, Scott. I love ya, mister. :-)

  • @SingSnapAngelgirl well said.

  • and here i was thinking that the lowly commentator from the olympics had retired from skating, it didn't even cross my mind that he could STILL do the backflip after all these years. Way to go Scott!!

  • is the backflip illegal in the olympics or something cause this guy's beast and you'd think current olympians could do it

  • Actually yes, backflips are illegal to perform in olympics. While they may look cool, they dont have anything to do with skating skills.

  • seeing him live and you freak he is still doing as great as he is..

  • Dude that backflip was hella sketch not even good.

  • Holy Crap! He *still* does his backflip! Wow! The man is amazing, and an inspiration...
