  • Just in: Obama's truck got stolen. Guess the thieves took it literal.

  • And you get a truck, and you get a truck.... Obama Winfrey.

  • hey obama, if you care about the poor so much maybe you would give your fortune away, and not play as twice as much Golf as president Bozo Bush, shit in 2 years you played as many games as he did in 4 years in office

  • Can we, Mr. President?!

    Yahey, GMCs all round!

  • Maybe Hussein Obama can become a comedian if this President job doesn't work out.

  • Um ... no we can't buy a truck because you spend our money!

  • @Righty736 Every government spends money, and Obama would've had a lot less spending to do if Bush hadn't thrown the US into a war over imaginary weapons of mass destruction.

  • Barack Obama, a true genius.

  • What a great look of smugness and superiority at 0:10. This guy just mocks anyone who disagrees with him. A real class act.

  • GLAD HE IS RICH :)

  • Look at the WEIRDOS behind him. Wowser those look like some strange folk right there.lol

  • All of you liberal Idiot out there voted for this guy LOL

  • @Mylar25 - Hell, I am surprised obama can tie his shoes in the morning!

  • This is just one more obama failure out of many, to many to count!

  • Don't you mean, "And counting"

  • keep taxing ppl and nobody will be able buy a truck

  • Mr. President. You can criticize my record, you can talk about the positions I have, but don't ever start criticizing my truck."

  • To nightwatchsf:

His truck has over 200,000 thousand miles on it. I don't believe this was some political ploy. He is a man of the people unlike Coakley or Obama. This speech just shows how far the administration has drifted away from the needs of the people.

  • Ok so now a lawyer and a 3 term state senator is in touch with the people because he drives a truck? And this guy just happened to feature the fact that he drives a truck and how many miles its has because its relevant to what? If this wasn't a ploy to connect to the blue collar workers.. then why bring it up? Obama was not dissing pick up trucks or saying that everyone could afford them. He was suggesting that brown is a pickup poser. And he's right on.

  • Alright, you can't be a poser if you use something(like a truck) everyday. He's in touch with the people because he is against spending millions of dollars on a public healthcare plan that two thirds of Americans want scrapped. Last time I checked that was a majority.

  • My bad... billions of dollars.

  • Brown also opposes a multi-billion dollar tax on our "too big to fail" financial institutions to payback taxpayer money for the recent bailouts. And supported the 2006 Massachusetts healthcare reform requiring all residents to obtain coverage. And he supports 30 billion dollars of aid to israel over the next 10 years. (as does obama). The current healthcare plan needs some serious revision. We should be more interested in real issues than what vehicle either of them drive.

  • I completely agree that we need talk about the issues. I just wish President Obama would not say things that are so arrogant. The way he handled this healthcare bill is horrid. No transparency with the public which he promised (He has lied to the public many times about this bill). I believe they do need to throw the bill out because it's wrong for the country and has been handled foolishly by Obama's Administration.

  • @nightwatchsf

it is reported that brown's truck has over 200,000 miles. as a conservative i welcome any man that steps in against that sham of a health care bill, but i know little else of him. what i do know is that obama is beginning to come off as the arrogant, detached, narcissist that he has always been.

yes, indeed, ol barry is post partiepartisan,

  • obama is a poser who got elected on hype and his race

  • Thats just dead wrong and ridiculous. He has been a consistent over achiever throughout most of his career. So I suppose the fact that he was also the first black president of the Harvard Law review was also about race, and had nothing to do with ability. Posing as what? .He can't be posing AND be an elitist. Is he posing AS an elitist? Is he elitist because he went to one of the best law schools in the nation, or because he didn't run his "hype" campaign around the mileage on his truck?

  • how many papers did he write while president of the law review? he is an elitist since he goes on vacations while his wife has $500 shoes. obama ran his campaign on how he was different because of his race. but dont trust me since i am a typical white person

  • here is another question. how paid for his education? what were his grades?

  • Obama paid for school through student loans and grant's as nearly anyone who applies can do. Loans are easy to get for those accepted to Harvard (its a safe bet) getting in is the hard part. I also go on vacations with my wife. And I bought a pair of $400 alden shoes (hand made in america) 10 years ago which I still wear today. So I suppose that makes me a patriotic elitist? But I haven't owned a car for 2 years, does that make up for it? Its absolutely false that he ran his campaign on race.

  • wheres your proof? strange that he wont release his grades to see if he could get in. do you stay in a $4000 night house? they also rented 2 more for friends. he flew to demark to try to get the olympics here. do you know how much it costs to run air force one? the shoes his wife has are sneakers and she wore them to a food bank. you can do whatever you want to, since you are not a public figure. obama is supposed to be one of the people. but what do i know as a typical white person

  • while he didnt run on it , but he got elected because of it. he did call his grandmother a typical white person. he did say that the gop would say he was black to scare people. if he was a white 1st term senator who spent most of his term running, there is no way he would have been elected.

  • hey! Rockefeller n Kissinger, the CIA paid his bills... His first job out of college was at the Kissinger Insititute

  • Elitist dunce

  • I can't believe how many of you guys didn't understand the reference. Obama wasn't attacking those who own trucks, or saying that everyone in the US could afford a truck. He was attacking the obvious falsehood republican campaign practices to demonstrate that they are just every day joe's or every day joe the plumbers. Come On! did you watch his campaign commercials? "I love this old truck, it brought me closer to the people of this state?"

  • You do not have to apologize for Obama. I understood exactly what he said...Do you think Obama is like every day joe's? Please...Look at the polls people are finally waking up. Above all this, Massachussetts elects a senator that is not a Democrat. The tides are changing...

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not apologizing for obama, I'm explaining the context of his statements for those that missed it. Obama isn't pandering for votes by claiming to be anything he's not. I don't think what car someone drives qualifies or disqualifies them for leadership. Reaching out to blue collar america by bragging about your truck is a totally transparent ploy. Yes the polls are changing.. Non stop slandering from extremists from from both the left and the right are taking their toll. Waking up? hardly.

  • night, the only thing I wanted to point out was that Obama did sound like an elitist. At this moment, not everyone can buy a truck. His policies have not helped the country and he still blames everything on Bush. It has been a year already, both Congress and Bush are at fault for this mess, but Obama would have solved the unemployment easily by cutting 5-7% income taxes across the board and 5% on capital gains + freeze spending. More $ for businesses +employees=more tax revenue.SIMPLE!

  • President Obama has given our Democratic Party a terrible legacy that will live on for many years to come. He has shown those with any intelligence that anyone other than a corporate lobbyist should nevermore believe in a Democrat for any positive change. Our President Obama is clearly the false prophet of change. That is to say, except for given us a higher meaning of change in the form of gullibility accorded to Democratic Party demagoguery.

  • When will people start voting for the politician and NOT FOR THE PARTY!!! "Given our Democratic Party a bad name" Please, the Democratic Party with their backroom deals and trying to force a corrupt healthcare bill down our throats took them down and will take them down in November. The Republicans, another band of corrupt politicians, are also in the crosshairs. New blood will enter the Congress in November, we need a REAL CHANGE!

  • Democratic Party representatives in Washington act as though they have a record of accomplishment while our nation sits near economic collapse. We watch them bickering like little children as they posture and spin trying to make themselves look responsible. But in reality, our Democratic Party representatives in Washington have only made success through bribery. What? Yes, bribery. When you buy people off with money, that is bribery, and it has clearly become our Democratic Party specialty.

  • This constant partisan slandering is silly and completely misses the point. So I suppose 12 years of republican presidents had nothing to do with the state of our economy? and I suppose that Obama doesn't deserve any credit for pulling us back from the brink of depression with timely bail out money? I believe the Repbulican party had their hands plenty dirty with contracts in iraq. Politics is more complex than the were right your wrong Fox "news" interpretation. look deeper.

  • Umm no, I can't buy a truck. I don't have the money.

  • @MaizeRage47 exactly, obama is living in a bubble, we need to pop.

  • yeah everyone can buy a truck. thats why we had cash for clunkers and save GM.

Obama think before u speak, it works sometimes.

  • I hope to change driving my POS and buy a truck. Where's my bail out? oh yeah I managed to keep my job and not rack up hugh debts guess I'm not worth bailing out.

  • Democrats in Congress propose tough new restrictions on Bankers bonuses and guess wgta, yeah you got it Repugs opposed that, So all the talk about Republicans, Brown et al being part of "The people" shows all you airheads how dumb you are.

  • Obama is a Total asshole. News flash, People that drive pickups built this Country.

People in limo's are ruining this country

If anybodys got a problem with that you can kiss my pickup truck driving Ass.

  • worst President and administration ever. A bad joke.

  • Hey jackass, most of us can't buy a truck now because we are all out of work. Maybe if you would quit printing money and intentionally trying to collapes the free market system some of us could buy a truck. Your Progressive dems are running like rats on a sinking ship now that Brown has won. Endgame for you and Pelosi. You're a lame duck now thanks to the Tea party movement.

  • Hahahah you wish , The same tea party repugs in congress who dont want to stop the big bankers bonuses. You bunch of idiots, spoon fed by Fakefox

  • Wow, what a rude comment to say when so many of our nations people are having their homes foreclosed upon and becoming homeless. You'd think with his background as a community organizer, and president, he would be more sensitive.

  • I just took a pill of ortab and now want to masturbate all day... hehe

  • hey president jackass...maybe you should check on a guy's policies before you try to tell people why they shouldn't vote for him...moron...showing up with your slick talk aint enough any more

  • Now that Obama owns GM he wishes everybody could buy a truck. Fact is 10% of the population is out of work and cannot buy much of anything.

  • Comment removed

  • i find it funny people are takeing him seriously on here when

1 everyone was laughin so it could have been a joke

2 its a 9 second clip. could EASILY have been taken out of context. o thats right it makes obama look bad. lets not think about it and just talk trash.

  • @Nupiyo Mabey he was making fun of the gun owners that cling to their bibles and drive pick up trucks.

  • obama living in a bubble now? this man is looking more like a joke everyday

  • @historywillabsolve I agree with you! And FINALLY, hopefully, or maybe? More and more of those who failed to do their research about the candidate before voting for him are NOW REALIZING IT! Will we survive the remaining three yrs? I don/'t know and have my doubts. God help us and the USA.

  • no Mr. president everybody can NOT buy a truck! there are about 15.3 MILLION people that most certaintly can NOT buy a truck.

  • I see no arrack on the President here. He is simply making his statment and speaking his mind. He has the same 1st Amendment Rights as I so.

  • @007ltk u sir are a douche!

  • I see no attack on the President here. All it is him talking. He is allowed his opinion and free speach like anyone else.

  • What an elitist piece of shit this guy is.

  • plenty of idiot youtube trollers who attack the President after 1 year with the country fighting wars overseas and and the economy in the worst state since 1930's , You brain dead morons.

  • what a pos scumbag. when are we going to impeach this 'president' of ours?

  • well scumbag , I bet you not one of those who called for Chimp Bush and Cheney to be impeached? Hey? the Liars who could never be surpassed No. Fucking Repug asshole

  • Anybody can buy arugula, too. Obambi is trying to be a Populist, but is a miserable failure when relating to REAL AMERICANS (not socialist, bastard, union, Chicago dirty politiicans, ACORN vote cheaters).

  • Obama has now flexed his muscles with the olympic bid, AND a lowly senate race. Couldn't close either... hmmm

  • to hell with all these SOCIALISTS !

america doesnt want this shit hes peddling.

  • the right to bear arms , bullshit, Writtten in the days of the wild west, You living in the past USA JERKS

  • Are you fucking stupid? It's called the 2nd amendment you fucking retard.

  • Fuck what amendent it is its outdated but it sure hangs well with the gunslingers of the USA

  • Then fuck the 1st amendment too. And you don't need to vote either. Actually, you seem a bit on the fucking retarded side so you REALLY don't need to vote.

  • typical of another youtube bigoted asshole, someone who doesn't agree with you is a retard,.Makes you worse than a retard, Facist

  • Yeah, 'cause its not facist to tell people they can't own guns. Why don't you go to the UK where you can't legally own a pointy knife?

  • now whos the retard? Pathetic

  • Good comeback, brougham...In the UK, you have to be 18 years old to buy a box of silverware...By the way, do you understand what the definition of facist is?

  • "Wild west"? It's part of our founding documents! I bet you went to public school. . . .

  • Everybody can run slick ads . That's true. But Scot Brown is real. And saying everyone can buy a truck tells me how out of touch Obama is.

  • Yep, I guess I can go right out and buy a truck right this second...Oh yeah, I can't. I'm too busy smearing caviar on my naked body while I give myself a Dom Perignon enema. You're a total piece of shit Obama. Tell you what: you go buy a truck and cram it up your cram-hole!

  • fuck this elitist asshole. NOT everybody can afford to buy a truck. I can't wait until this guy is booted out of office. The fact that brown won Massachusetts is a HUGE referendum on the Democrat agenda and procedure. Only 3 more years and we can wave goodbye to the biggest mistake we've ever voted into office.

  • Everybody can afford a truck? How out of touch could one be to make such a statement in these economic times? Obama really doesn't have a clue how to govern. I want George Bush back. At least he smiled while he was fucking us.

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • if you get your way asshole with your taxes, NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD A TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tommee10533

If he has his way, nobody may even be able to afford a Renault LeCar.

A Yugo, maybe .... if it doesn't run and you have to push it, they may let you buy it. Just hope the rear window defogger works.

  • Obama, enjoy 3 years you have left in that white house, you're are going to be a ONE term pres. pal. YOU SUCK B.O.

  • Why wait 3 years...impeach the lier...I Love Trucks...with some mud on em!

  • Brown was Right! Bush was Right! Palin was Right! Rush was Right! Fox was Right! Tea Party was Right! Coakley Wrong! Obama Wrong! Olberman Wrong! Pelosi Wrong! Liberals Wrong!

  • hey obama you suck! and no not everyone can buy a truck.

  • Libs, listen up. Scott Browns victory is just the beginning on what is going to take place Nov 2010 & 2012. We rightwingers, tea party conversatives have just begun. We will no longer stand aside and let you leftwingers destroy America & make us a european socialist country. Why don't you anti-american, baby killing, lazy living off the backs of others, wanting something for nothing after being taken from a true producer, haters of what America truly stands for pack your bags and move elsewhere.

  • Everyone can run slick ads and buy a truck.... Then apparently everyone can also knock off a Democrat in the bluest of blue states. This isn't about Coakley running a bad campaign. This is about Obama running a bad presidency.

  • Everyone can buy a truck? Oh our dear President Obama, did you forget the fact that you stopped the redistribution of our wealth on that program. Cash for Clunkers ended and NO, we all can't drive the truck we need. Thank you for waisting our tax dollars though. The people making $40,000 a year appreciate your generosity with our money. And let's not forget that we make less in the private sector on average than the public sector average. So weird that we pay their salaries! It will end soon.

  • Ima ford truck man. Thats all I drive! I aint got no boundaries I dont compromise! Also lol over the fact it is a GM truck. Bailour ftw!

  • Mr. President, not everyone can afford a $30,000 truck. You are completely out of touch with the middle class. You will not be re-elected so enjoy it while you can. Oh, and try not to screw us over too bad.

  • You know he cant read what you wright, right?

  • Comment removed

  • Wait, Obama is out of touch, but Scott Brown drives a new truck (that he calls old) and lives in a fucking mansion and he IS in touch?

    God! some people.

  • When did I say that Scott Brown is in touch? I dont think that anyone in Washington is "in touch". Obviously, the truck is just a tactic to appear more connected to the middle class. Similar to Obama without a tie and his sleeves rolled up.

  • God!! You people.

  • The eyes of Texas are upon you!

I like the truck, but mostly the man who drives it. That people's seat in Mass. is the first to swing. Left wing is just that.

  • I'd rather be riding backwards in Brown's truck than over a cliff in Obammy's.

  • But not everybody can drive a stick right through your socialist agenda.

That guy in the truck just took your girl to the woodshed.

Not exactly the "change" you were thinking of, right Obama?

This is only the beginning. Just wait until November. Someone needs to put Pelosi and Reid on suicide watch.

  • And everybody can hear the shot that stated the anti-Obama revolution, fired tonite by the voters in Massachusetts! Go, Brown, Go!

  • U americans r hopeless.

Your Generation has and will destroy everything your grandparents build.

U fools voted for Bush two times and u r talking that Obama will be a lesson.

Just hopeless man , just hopeless.

We in Europe should go on and build a strong EU and stop waiting for the americans to get smart.

For a moment there we thought now after Bush and with Obama , the US could it really turn around. But its hopeless. U r even too dumb and heartless to get healthcare for everyone.

  • @arberkusari Priceless. A strong EU? You mean the old Europe funding the new Europe and looting Germany's treasure. It's just socialism on a new scale. Germany is the only really strong power in the EU and you guys should wise up.

  • theres nothing about your country that could be compared to ours except our leaders are socialist retards.

And theres a reason why nationalized healthcare is an awful idea. Pull your head out of your asshole kid. It has nothing to do with being heartless, it has to do with government taking control of 1/6 of our economy and having the say so on who gets healthcare and who doesnt. you are just a sheep and a fucking retard.

  • Yes, yes, it's much better that a profit driven corporate executive gets to decide who gets healthcare and who doesn't than someone you can actually elect, or choose not to elect.

  • No its really not. Ask Massachussetts about that one. 40% rise in cost which is opposite of lower premiums that Obama and those other assholes keep saying wont rise, theyve seen a big loss of doctors, and they already seen rationing in only the past 5 years.

Yeah.... Much better than being guaranteed healthcare through an employer.

  • That's because Massachusetts (and admittedly the Senate version of the bill) didn't have a public option that could compete with private insurers to keep costs down.

Rationing is a stupid argument, because private insurers ration every day. They decide whether they will pay for treatment and how much treatment they will pay for. And they make a profit when they don't treat you. So you can imagine what that profit motive creates.

btw, healthcare through an employer - gov't program!

  • Healthcare from your employer involves zero government intervention between you and your doctor. its a benefit your employer provides so I have no idea where you got that from. When I had to work done on my eye my bills were covered through my employer and I never heard anything about government.

And "denying" and "rationing" are different things. And since I have talked this all over with my aunt who works at Floridas largest hospital, I can safely say you have no idea what your talking about.

  • I can't blame you for being ignorant taylort123. Usually when gov't programs work, people don't even realize it.

The reason that most employers offer health insurance is because any money they spend on it isn't taxable. Moreover, any employee plan doesn't allow the insurance company to deny you based on pre-existing conditions. you can start a job with cancer and they still have to take you.

Both of those points were because of legislation to encourage more health care coverage.

  • Yeah I'm pretty ignorant.

  • And another thing. The current Senate bill (which I don't like) and the house bill (which is much better) do not involve government intervention between you and your doctor. There is nothing in either bill that requires the government to do anything with you or your doctor's decisions besides funding them.

Oh, and if you have the time, please describe the difference between denying and rationing.

  • And you called me ignorant.

    Bye.

  • Well, if you didn't know that employer health care not being subject to pre-existing conditions is government legislation, and that no tax on employer health care plans is government legislation that would be the very definition of being ignorant of something.

  • Do you think that when the British and Canadian parliaments passed their health care bills they told people "Hey, we've got this great program that will put government in between you and your doctor?" Do you think they passed a bill that said Canadians would wait months for an MRI or that Brits with breat cancer would get pain meds instead of chemo? Or did those things evolve later?

$500 BILLION cut out of Medicare and no government intervention in care? Yeah, right!

  • Do you think that the British and Canadian people want to get rid of their health care system and move to one like ours? You'd have a riot in those countries if they moved toward and American style health care system. Is their system perfect? No, not by a mile. Is it better than ours? Yes, by miles and miles.

And I thought conservatives wanted to get rid of medicare. Of course, if they ran on that, they'd never get elected.

  • so not true--I have many british and canadian friends who are totally fed up with their healthcare "system". Even some who have lost family members because they couldn't get care, too old, not enough med personnel, etc. The US has the BEST, GREATEST health care system in the world! Don't forget it!

  • You are confused. Polls in both the U.K. and Canada show that the vast majority of those populations don't want to get rid of their health care system, they want it improved.

And you're confusing health care with health care access (our system). The best place to get treatment for MANY (not all) ailments is in the U.S. However, the U.S. is one of the worse places as far as access is concerned. You can get the best treatment, but only if you can afford it.

  • Really? I seem to remember getting run over by a forklift in 2006 with absolutely zero insurance. I received medical assistance which I did have to pay for eventually. Well, I can still work, and as a matter of fact I joined the Army 6 months later. Health care is not a right, just like housing, food, cellphones, jobs, or anything else you can think of. If you want to improve access, why don't you take up a collection instead of forcing producers to bear the cost of consumers?

  • "Forcing" producers to bear the cost of consumers? Producers already bear the cost in lost productivity. Tell me, were you working after you got run over by that forklift?

Rights are what we define them to be. Freedom of speech was not always a right, and isn't a right in some countries. Freedom of religion wasn't always a right. Hell, clean air and drinking water isn't a right most places on earth, but it is in this country.

  • I went right back to the same company 2 weeks later because I'm not a deadbeat. And yes, when you tell someone that they have to arbitrarily pay for someone else to do anything and they have no choice, that is forcing. And rights are not what we define them to be...There's this magical document called "The Bill of Rights". I'm going to assume you've never heard of it based on your rhetoric, but its a good read and I suggest you check it out before posting anymore nonsense like that again.

  • I'm glad you healed and got back to work. The company still lost 2 weeks of work from you.

Do you think the Bill of Rights outlines all of your rights? A strict reading of the bill of rights means that you don't have a right to privacy and the government could stalk you 24/7. A strict reading means that the government could force a lawyer on you during a trial. It doesn't guarantee that you can choose your own.

We define our rights. We did it with the Bill of Rights and continue to.

  • They would have lost 2 weeks regardless. Do you not comprehend that? Goverment subsidized healthcare would not have made my broken foot better any faster.

And as far as the government stalking us, try reading the 4th amendment which has been brutally raped by the Patriot Act which Obama will not repeal. So we do not define our rights because the people we elect don't care about them. They are unaffected by the decisions they make for us.

  • Furthernore, the Constitution is not there to gurantee us rights. That is a side effect of its greater purpose which is to limit the scope and power of the federal government. But Congress has been derelict in its duty for about 3 generations now starting with the passage of income tax and allowing the Federal Reserve to control every aspect of our monetary supply. You sound passionate about your veiws, but you also sound very mis-informed.

  • First, yes, they would have lost 2 weeks from you regardless. But that's not the case with other people who might avoid missing work if they had regular checkups and medical maintenance due to a lack of insurance.

The 4th amendment protects unreasonable search and seizure. It says nothing explicitly about privacy and it doesn't define what is "unreasonable." We define those rights.

And yes the Constitution is there to guarantee rights. The founding fathers said as much.

  • Being run over by a forklift could have been avoided if he had regular checkups? Do you comprehend how dumb you sound?

  • Can you read coolmom9? I wasn't implying that other people could avoid being run over by a forklift with regular checkups. But there are people with diabetes, chronic medical problems, asthma, etc. etc. That miss work because they let those problems accumulate simply because they can't afford to go to the doctor on a regular basis.

    Try to keep up.

  • I was a single mom, worked as a waitress and had a child with epilepsy. I worked with my hospital and worked out a payment plan and PAID MY OWN BILLS! It's called personal responsibility!

  • That's nice coolmom9. That your bills were small enough that you could work out a payment plan with the hospital and that you're not accumulating more bills for your child's epilepsy.

What if it gets worse? How will you ever get from under the bills, or save for your retirement, or God forbid, something worse happens medically? Personal responsibility only goes so far. After that, you need insurance.

  • No, personal responsibility is just that--PERSONAL. I did not or do I now, expect someone else to pay my bills. My family is one of the 12 million "uninsured'.

    We chose to be uninsured.

  • If you have the ability to pay for medical insurance and you choose NOT to pay for it while you have a child with epilepsy, then you are the worst possible example of "personal responsibility." You are, in fact, highly irresponsible

If you can afford it, get health insurance. You don't know what can happen. Personal responsibility dictates that you prepare for the unexpected

Otherwise, the tax payer will end up paying for you or covering the part of the cost the hospital knows you can't pay

  • "Half a loaf is better than no bread. If we cannot secure all our rights, let us secure what we can"

-Thomas Jefferson on the Bill of Rights.

  • You do realize that Thomas Jefferson was for state's rights, correct? There does not need to be a Federal law to allow or disallow everything under the sun. I strongly recommend you rethink your opinion of the constitution's purpose. As I stated earlier, the founder's intent was to limit the scope and power of the federal government to prevent it from being a tyrannical institution, not to give debeats free welfare. If you want to do that, take up a collection!

  • How do you go from me saying that the constitution primarily guarantees our rights to me saying that the founder's intent was not to give deadbeats free welfare? That's quite a fucking leap.

Before the Bill of Rights, many patriots, including Thomas Paine, actively fought against it because they thought without guarantees the government would be tyrannical.

And before that, the founders tried to limit the scope and power of the fed. govt with the Articles of Confederation. It didn't work.

  • You didn't even bother to read it apparently. Let me sum it up for you. The laws set forth in the constitution are exhaustive, therefore anything not covered in the constitution IS EXPRESSLY UP TO THE STATES AS TO WHETHER OR NO THERE SHOULD BE A LAW. So it is pretty limiting, but unfortunately over the years people like you that are ignorant of what the constituion actually says have allowed these people to twist the intent of the constitution.

  • That being said, I'm through trying to educate you because you're obviously too full of Obama's Kool-Aid to have an intellectually honest debate. You sound like a classic silver spoon-fed libereal that is actually out of touch with 80% of America, just like our president. I grew up poor and have had to bust my ass for everything I have, including joining the Army, so I get agitated when the gov't wants to steal more of my money. What have you ever done to benefit this country?

  • Oh, so now it's a question of what I've done for my country. I'm also a veteran, having served in Enduring Freedom (that's Afghanistan) in the Marine Corps. But I don't use that as some badge of honor to put myself above someone I'm debating.

I also grew up poor (qualified for food stamps, but that was not the way my parents wanted to go). But both of these has nothing to do with the purpose of the Constitution

Of course it puts limits on gov't, IN THE CONTEXT of guaranteeing certain rights

  • I just said I'm in the Army. Do you think I'm so fucking stupid that I don;t know the difference between OIF and OEF? Plus the fact that you wouldn't use the colloquial abbreviation tells me one of two things: either you're lying about your service, or you were an officer (read:useless). My service doesn't put me above anyone, but my intellect sure does. Again, healthcare is a commodity, not a right. Its just like internet access, soda pop, Taco Bell, etc...ITS NOT A RIGHT!

  • @jacklegg21

Say that when you get out of the Army and might need the V.A. genius.

From an OIF2 vet of the 11B kind.

  • @TimmyHaag Well, serving in the military is an exchange in and of itself, right? You're not getting something for nothing if you've served honorably.

And you're right. I'm fucking smart enough to be a P.O.G. Way to be jealous there, tough guy. At least my time in the Army will get me a decent job on the outside.

  • If you don't believe that the express purpose of the constitution is a limiting of federal clout, read Article I, section 8 and Article I, Section 10.

  • Way to take Jefferson out of context. Here's the preceeding statement which proves my point:

"This instrument forms us into one state as to certain objects, and gives us a legislative and executive body for these objects. It should therefore guard us against their abuses of power within the feild submitted to them. 2. A positive declaration of some essential rights could not be obtained in the requisite latitude."

  • But they don't tell me what care I can have or not have--that is the rationing we are talking about.

  • I'm sorry, are you talking about private insurance companies? So private insurance companies pay for whatever medical procedure you want, no questions asked? I have to know what health insurance company that is. Millions of Americans would like to join.

  • Private ins. pays for a WHOLE lot more than medicare/caid does! Gov't healthcare will be a boondoogle that won't be able to pay for many procedures people need to live! Private Ins. has it problems that need to be addressed, but a gov't takeover of healthcare is certainly worse, and not the answer.

  • No, private insurance does not pay for more than medicare or medicaid does. Private insurance may payout more to the doctors for particular procedures, but they don't cover all the surgeries, all the medicine, and all the procedures that medicare covers. Not unless you have a pretty expensive plan.

You don't have to believe me, ask your private insurer what they cover, then ask someone that gets medicare.

  • I dont' have a private insurer. At this time, we are a one-income. middle-lower class family of four that has opted out ot health insurance. We pay our own way.

  • That doesn't happen in the US, get a clue! God, you people are so stupid!

  • Yeah, and the next time you european elitists need help keeping your freedom, don't look for American blood to be spilled for you! Do it yourselves!

  • Thank you citizens of Massachusetts for telling Obama to go to hell.
