I am Sorry, but for me are the old Black Sabbath still the Masters of Doom. Its easy to understand, without them, nobody would know the Sound of Doom and when you listen to all Doombands 90% sounds like Black Sabbath. This Guitar in this Track sounds exactly like Tony Iommi too...what you think they Vocals sounds like ??? ;)

My Dying Bride play something that is similar to doom, but without being real doom. They have contributed to the evolution of some new forms of (not traditional) doom metal, and so they are the forefathers for all this doomy gothic metal we can listen to nowdays. Personally, I don't like them and I can't consider them as doom, but at the same time I have nothing against them. I simply prefer listen to other bands like Count Raven, Revelation, Pale Divine, Unorthodox, ....

Total black sabbath worship, I am astounded I had never even heard about these guys till some weeks ago, and ive been a doom fan for ages. Really into bands like Castle, Winter, Candlemass, the mighty Saint Vitus and man, the doom parts in the Asphyx albums, that death/doom combination is killer, thx for posting this!

SHEAVY AND COUNT RAVEN are the closest to Sabbath.Witchfinder Gereral's first album and some Cathedral also come very close to the Greatest {Heavy] band ever to stalk this planet Earth.
