It is funny that you said that you said "It's the only game I would honestly call completely perfect," because that is exactly what I think about the game. It is really the only game I've played that doesn't have a single flaw: no annoying minigames, no problems with the difficulty curve, no ridiculous plot holes, no songs that don't fit the situation... I could go on for hours. Also, this game's soundtrack is the best I've ever heard. It seems to me as if the music IS Quote's voice.

Cave story is a game that will reward you for exploring. For instance, before you fight the core, you have the option to look around the room. Have a look.

Although if you're prepared to do that, you should find out a bit more about the endings to cave story, you may need to restart to get them all.

I would consider Braid to be superb, but not unflawed.

Both games feature an extra super-hard mission that requires you to play through the game a second time to complete. Now, Cave Story provides several hints throughout the game as to what you're supposed to do to unlock it, but the challenge is still great and the feeling satisfying.

Braid leaves most people completely in the dark about its extra feature, and some of the missions within it are unreasonable. And you get nothing for it.

The car only goes 2 beats.

In Cave story, I was able to do a 3hp run, but hell like that is just impossible.

I beat Ballos on my first try on the initial Hell run :o

Why some notes are blackened?

That's AMS's version of the Low-A glitch. It mutes a previous note placed on the same pitch just previously. It's better because the line does not have to be empty for you to place it, but muting more than one note of the same instrument takes more than one note, and they also count towards the 6-instrument limit.
