I've heard on other news stories that she's gotten kidneys from her father and brother. My brother is a type one diabetic. His iron level has dropped from 45 to 35. I have two perfectly healthy kidneys, all the people in my family who exhibited kidney disease started showing signs early in life. Since that hasn't happened to me, I think it's a good bet that I have not inherited the same gene.
