What I extract from this: people aren't engaged from politics because they really don't know what the issues are - and it's not because they're stupid. What we call "elections", are purposely designed to keep people ignorant of issues that can affect them. Very easy to demonstrate, as people like Noam Chomsky do all the time.
they are simply uninformed. 1 could say there are powers at play keeping them (us all) from tuning in to what is Truly important in life. Who gains from such an unknowledgeable Green moldable demographic ? New fresh hot cogs .
Give me a break, Villanova is just party U. Outside of drinking and trips to the pharmacy, they are too busy to think about anything of value. Man, I was so unimpressed with the students I met there.
I still vote but, I personally believe we lost democracy when they privatised and made voting electronic with no paper ballot. It's already been proven that the votes have been tampered with and still nothing is being done to change it.
Wow! It's scary how little people of this age know about what is going on in politics. The politics does, and will continue to, affect their lives. Do they not care? Are they not intelligent enough to figure it out? Have they be frightened into immobility?
these are all rich kids. they have nothing to worry about, they will be taken care of cradle to grave despite a college education. college is more of a vacation for them. They probably don't even need college. they don't care because they don't need to care there future is already secured and they know it.
You're right, the ones who couldn't remember didn't vote and were ashamed to admit it. Yeah, it's all about one rich guy against another rich guy. Why baa- ther? Jay Leno should ask some sheepish questions on this campus like "can you name a country that begins with the letter U"? Besides Uranus.
Apathetic? Ya think? WOW, didn't even know who she voted for...that is Leno material. Mere politics was beneath Ms. Science Yout of America. America's youth are the stupidest, most spoiled MORANS in a world full of MORANS that even Mr Moran would disown. This is
Republican territory. No wonder they are so successful
It all makes sense. I have wondered why it is hard for me to get along with people my own age. . . .they are all nieve, stupid, fucking morons. All these assholes care about is getting laid, the next good party, and possibley there next midterm. It is like they don't see the importance of voting and how there informed decision can change the country. I wish american youth wasn't so fucking retarded!
I have no idea really what Villanova is like, but there's got to be a wider range of students to interview besides people from sororities and fraternities. Yeah?
Voting is less important than charity. Picking one rich guy to make laws over another is less important than helping people.
People are just avoiding your questions by saying they forgot who they voted for. I know I would, you can't expect a truthful answer to that question.
Is this video indicative of the amount of political interest on our nation's campuses? Is so, how sad :-( It was still good to hear youth participation was up in the midterms, tho
And, thx 4 the vid pointing out the issue! 5 stars and added to favs :-)

"these are all rich kids"
How do you know that?
They look like middle class to me; Bush's policies are turning them into the new poor.

Why should they care? They had everything given to them. Why rock the boat when you're sitting in the luxury cabin.

Exactly! Much like their drone funding(mommy and daddy)- If its not in my face it's not my problem.

The understatement of the video:
"this campus is generally apathetic"
