As he is the head of the home, and his wife was "misbehaving," he deemed it suitable to shame her before God, her children, and the community at large by forcibly cutting her hair. Not that I think he is one tiny ounce of a Christian for it, just the opposite in fact. I just wanted to explain how people in his community would have perceived that particular act of woman-hating.

i was being sarcastic just to show what a bunch of hypocrites they are. The women in that cult aren't allowed to cut their hair cause the bible says not to, but the bible also tells men not to shave their sideburns. They seemed to have overlooked that verse.

I forget the religious term they use to differentiate between the Mosaic commandments they follow and those from which they believe themselves to have been absolved. It's almost like the Catholic teaching of the difference between a mortal and a venial sin, but it's not that. I cant remember the term. Do you know it?
