  • The guy who played Marius was much better than Nick Jonas

  • you are all really really good!!! I love Les Mis and this was great. I wish I could see your whole show.

  • I wish Enjolras was a bit more aggressive.. But good man!

  • Marius is amazing.

  • This is absolutely brilliant - my school's putting on Les Mis next week - I'm only stage crew, but this is a lot better than ours - atm! ;) Congrats. Very professional looking!

  • omg what? you were tired, lol...couldn't tell...you guys were amazing, the best high school production...well done!!

  • im jealous, i wish my school had a rotating stage! :)

  • I can not believe, that this is a HS! The background is professional, too!

    Great!!!

The best school version on utube!

  • did you play Enjolras? :))

  • yes!

  • Well, hate to break it to you but... your voice dosen't sound tired at all!

In fact it's the best in the scene! :))

  • @villc94 thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • No problem :))

Your lucky though! In our school production we don't have such a cool scene AND we have to sing it in Norvegian... :P

  • i play enjolras in my high school production =)

  • i love this!!!! so good :))) acted very well!!

  • The guy whose voice gets cut off? You know? The nerd who is Enjolras' best friend? Please don't tell me you don't know who Combeferre is.

  • oh and goCombfere, im playing him in the Avon Summer Theater production of Les Mis

  • this Marius is extremely annoying, he sings very out of the style of the play, Grantare is so funny.

  • You all did an amazing job. It looks so professional.

Next summer, in 2010, amarillo civic youth theatre is doing Les Miserables for the second time. And this was a good example of how to do the parts. I either want Marius or Enjolras.

  • Oh good lord. Combeferre's voice = swoon. Marius' hairdo is surprisingly time period accurate as well.

  • your marius is grand.

  • I'm playing Enjolras in my school production, this is the only song im worried about because i always struggle with the 'Red the blood of angry men etc etc'

  • nxt is beauty and the beast if im not mistaken

  • Nipomo High School Theatre. :]

I take pride in my department.

  • your all brilliant. im currently doing a youth version of this song and im playing enjolras and its such a hard part. this guy is really good.

  • omg you even have the turning stage this is fantastic!

  • you were Enjolras? great job!! i recently saw this show at a community theatre and the Enjolras couldn't project at all. you did amazingly, especially if your voice was tired.

the whole cast is great here. it really seems professional. :)

  • love grantaires acting like a drunk!

  • Nipomo High School did exellent with les mis i saw most of the vids! they should go on brodway!

  • just seen it in lonodn and this version is really gd

  • enjolras needs to have a deeper and more powerful voice, marius is paleyed very well and well song, enjolras was very good nonetheless

  • How long did they do this show? At my school we do our shows for 3 days!

  • The show ran for three weekends - sold out every show, I believe!

  • oh, grantaire was really good too :)

  • enjolras is SOOOOOOO good!!! he's my favorite part and i'm so glad to find someone on youtube who plays him right.

marius was a really good actor but his voice was a little too adam-pascal-surfer-dude for les mis.

i also kinda liked how gavroche ran in and frantically tried to get everyones attention by yelling "LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN TO ME LISTEN!" ...but NO ONE was talking :)

  • And I like the "Enjolras!" at the very beginning. I don't hear it very often and think it fits quite nicely.

  • Extremely impressive for high schoolers. You guys have got so much talent in your performers is astonishing, and your budget must've been unbelievable. I envy you; our drama program works on about a thousand dollars a year.

I didn't like the guy playing Marius, though. He didn't sing very clearly and and sounded like he was doing a boy band impression.

  • Agreed. Didnt like the marius

  • AWESOME!!

  • wow good job

  • that was AWESOME! very very good, especially for High Schoolers!!!!!Enjolras is very very very good!

  • amaing voices and wonderful acting- that's really great!!!!!!!!!

  • Pretty neat rotating stage and stuff but our school was like sweet... but we dont have any videos up from our school yet.. we just finished ours but maybe soon...

  • Awesome. Great voices. Great acting. I wish you'd post more videos, though..

Does "Marius" have a youtube or myspace account, too?

  • The voices are really good, but Enjolras needs a bit more emotion in his face. His eyes don't really express what he is singing.

  • really good

  • Yeah, Grantaire had clearly taken one too many. I lol'ed.

  • I really liked this, I'm doing Les Mis in two weeks with a youth group, as fantine =) who one were you here? xoxoxoxoxo

  • wow that's amazing. they act better than most profecinal!!!

  • i wouldnt say that ... but they were good

  • WOW! This is a great high school production! I like the West End and Broadway version of Les Mis, but I prefer the broadway version because that's what I'm used to. I think it's funny that those are the most famous versions since it takes place in France. Has France ever put this on?

  • Probably Because I'm from England then.

  • The American productions sound Really Crap compared to English...

  • How would you know? You can't even speak proper English.

  • Because I've just finished performing it... And I can speak english. It just sounds silly with an American Accent

  • Silly to you... Believe it or not, it sounds normal to us.

  • Why does it matter so much wheter they use French accent or English accent?

Yes, the story is based on the July Revolution and set in post-Napoleonic France, but the whole message of Les Miserables intended by Hugo is not that. If Les Mis was intended only for the French audience, how was it that 40 million people found its message appealing?

  • The setting of France used in the musical and the novel was a mere mechanism to express Hugo's opinion on the poor, ill-fed and oppressed people who are craving for liberty. I think one should try to see Les Miserable from more universal perspective of the society's injustice to the poors. In conclusion, try not to focus too much on small mechanisms like accents : p

  • yerr very good :) impressed

  • my school did it aswell...it was amzing..

  • Wow, this is really beautiful. I wish my high school put on Les Miz instead of Helen Keller.

  • LOOOOL! Grantaire is so amazing!!... And funny, HAHAHAHA XD

  • who did u play? r u the guy in black and white or r u marrius?

  • the guy in the blackand white haha

  • This is exactly like the one on BROADWAY!!

  • the characters in this is brilliant.

were doing this at my school at the moment so its given me some ideas.

    enjolras is amazing!

  • Enjolras and grantaire are fabulous

  • *squeal* Les Amis are just the coolest!!!

You guys sung very well!! Incredible for Highschool! If my school were to do this play... I would join in an instant!

However... I can't tell who from who! (Except for Enjourlas and Marius)

Tee hee hee.... Feuilly, Jolly, Prouvaire, and R are my faves!

  • Oh my god! This is just soo great! Marius and Enjolras is amazing!

  • i love this! i can't get over the fact that it's a high school production!

  • OOh, that Enjolras is pretty hot.. and cool!

  • Marius ir really cute!

  • Best Graintair I've ever seen.

  • Shit, is this really a high school-play! It was really great :)

  • cute guys :)

  • Really admirable production for a high school- the turntable, my school could never do that in a million years! I can tell your voices are tired but y'all still sound pretty good. My one problem is Grantaire as a drunk-wtf? the show has enough comedy relief in the Thenardiers and Gavroche without hammng up a relatively serious character. Yes, he pokes fun at Marius but he's supposed to be a sensible student. What would Enjolras want with a drunk? That aside y'all did really well.

  • No, he really was a drunk. Enjolras didn't want him anyway--he just kept coming because he was infatuated with Enjolras. He couldn't very well kick him out--the cafe wasn't owned by him.

  • You had a very good drunk

  • Is Gavroche a high schooler?

  • Wow. You all are really good.

We have opening night tomorrow. Eep. I should be asleep. But I worry too much. So I'm watching better people's videos.

Yay for broke theatre companys who buy all their costumes at thrift stores and who don't have the turntable. Enjorac is amazing in this. And I LOVE gavroche. He's adorable. I mean, really. He kicks the butt out of any other one I've ever seen.

  • Who were you in this?

  • i played enjolrassss

  • Awsome!

  • ur eponine is amazing. i can't believe this is a high school production.if u taped i dreamed a dreamed, would u please post it. once again i think your cast id so amazing. everyone can sing and everyone is i character , wich is hard to get in high school. just amazing.

  • dude. I'm playing enjolras right now. You've got such a good voice!

  • well i guess this was good

  • Enjorlas, you have good vocals and good energy

  • woww! that was wounderful!

  • That was brilliant! And you were awesome!

  • You guys are awesome! My school will be performing this next week. Though I'm a bit dissopointed with my schools Marius.......I mean his a good singer, but he doesn't look the part. If you saw him you would agree with me. But your school is very good! -thumbs up-

  • Love Les Mis, brilliant high school performance all round - glad to see that school musical theatre is alive and in good hands. Marius - perfect casting - look out Michael Ball!

  • ok, I know Grantaire is supposed to be an alky, but he really bothers me.

    everyone else was excellent though!

  • He made me laugh! lol!!

  • I thought Marius was supposed to be hot..

  • Im enjolras is our show which is yet to run this month. we have 4 shows, really packing the place out for tickets. if i can i might get a vid or two up, but maybe not.

  • Don't listen to that brat, this blows all high school productions out of the water

    Which character were you?

This has got to be the best high school version I've seen, I can't get over it. You guys and your director obviously put your hearts and souls into this.

  • i played enjolras, thanks for the nice comment!

  • I also played Enjolras in mine on 2 nights, ritchie on 3.

  • Jeez child, you were amazing!

    Enjolras is my favorite character

  • Are you guys a performing Arts school? I mean, Ive seen a few High School performances...but you guys are incredible. The sets, your singing, and (Im assuming your band is playing as well? It sounds like a live band to me) just dominates all the school performances Ive watched. (Im also a huge Les Mis fan, so Ive seen it a few times)

  • Look, I'm not just saying this. I am in high school, and I LOVE doing theater. In fact, I am in this year's musical production of Grease. Look, you guys are AWESOME! I blame the sour notes that I heard on bad mics and poor video quality as well as y'all being tired. That dude who said overacting doesn't know what he's talking about. Anyways, great job. My director says that we may do Les Miserables next year!

  • That's insane. Your cast blows my school's out of the water.

  • lots of overacting and bad singing...gotta love high school theatre.

  • Just awesome =)

  • no this isnt a highschool its broadway!!

  • is this a high school?

if this is a high school, this is amaaaaaazing good for a high school performance. like. friggen amazing

  • love your cast, especially eponine, marius and enjolras. post more, please!

  • and the thenardiers! theyre amazing!

  • Im having trouble with the blonde marius..lol..and with the suggestive stick thing someone mentioned...it's a highschool play...right...? Makes sence that they wouldn't do that.

  • Marius' voice is really pretty, but he kind of sounds like... a boy band singer. Like, more popish than Broadway. But his voice was beautiful, and he's kind of cute!

  • overall the song was good, but your enjolras likes to go sharp....often. and grantaire is too energetic for being drunk; alcohol makes you more relaxed.

  • Why is Marius being played by the blond tit from McFly?

    Other than that, awfully good!

    =P

  • i though ur graintaire was really good. i liked the marius/ the enjolras had a great voice. i just dont think he sung it correctly. meaning he slowed down and ped up in the wrong parts. but he was still great. this is the best so far

  • Hey that was pretty cool. Brings back memories of our production last year. I was Enjolras. But yours looks cooler than ours was lol.

  • hm UTubes high again...it was quite good, but don't think too much on his "make it exactly like the one I saw, then it'll be good, otherwise i don't like it as much", cause yours was good in it's own right...did i mention your entire production looks ridiculously great, not to mention fine singing.

  • Very good! But please don't cut it short. ABC Friends Café Red & Black done very well. Just 2 minor things. "And here he comes like a "Don Ju-an" you should have had a stick in a suggestive gesture and on the line "Black, my world and she not there" on the word there should have been slurred as Anthony Warlow does it. Other than that, The Dream Cast couldn't have done it better themselves!

  • Anthony Warlow definitely played Enjolras and not Marius...

  • reeli good enjolras i think marius is a bit too gay tho..reeli good tho and amazing production

  • amazing!

  • Did he say "Like the flowing of the Seine"? CLEVER! Nicely done. This school has amazing singers...!

  • Please post One Day More!

  • Oh please post more of this!

  • Pretty good for being so tired; it is tough music. Also, I must say the way your production was filmed (and staged) was far superior to my school. Who were you, if I might ask?
