Closest Touhou failure I have is getting shot down by (I think it was Cirno) in PCB, going for a lunatic pacifist test as Sakuya A. Only reason I consider it a failure was because I got shot down when her spellcard timer was at what had to be 00.10 seconds.
heh, I noticed the score goes when you get close to the bullets. It's like, "Sure beating it is a great accomplishment in itself but for those insane enough to go for a really high score we'll add this so they have to risk losing a life getting close to the things that they're meant to dodge!"

I know you say no offense, but please try to sound like less of a jerk. I play how I play. I play Marisa B because it reflects my play style. I'll probably be more open to criticism and advice if you don't just say "This is easy, you suck". Okay, so the reason Marisa B is bad is that it has a smaller average damage output than Reimu B, Marisa A, and doesn't home in on enemies like Reimu A. Its piercing doesn't help against the boss, and masterspark doesn't affect Flandre's spellcards.
On the plus side, you did exceedingly well against Maze of Love, which is generally considered quite hard.
Why don't you try practicing on 60 fps, then do a 30 fps run?
That is actually fairly helpful. I know I'm not good enough to beat anything outside 30fps (which in my own opinion isn't nearly as easier than 60 as I was expecting). I have beaten Easy, and gotten past Sakuya on Normal at full speed. Concerning Marisa, I love the character and generally play as "I want whatever's right infront of me dead right this second" and love Master Spark to death. Not even so much gameplay-wise. I guess I'm willing to make it harder on myself to play a way I love.
Thank you for the information and suggestions. It's probably the framerate, but I rather enjoy Maze of Love. The downside to halfspeed though is that it also takes twice as long. After 30 minutes of this stage my nerves are shot. Having recently FINALLY beat Flandre, I think I'll move on to another game. I'll try to build my skill up there full speed on a non-Extra course.
You should probably go directly to PCB (which is probably easier), or maybe to Subterranean Animism. IN will kill your deathbombing skills. After you beat normal or hard with no slow, go to extra.
Style-wise, Koishi Komeiji (I never spell her name right) is the most similar to Flandre, but Mokou has spell practice to help you beat her. Or maybe you should go directly to PCB, play against Ran, and beat Yukari- once you beat her, you'll probably have the confidence to be everyone else.
I think you should try extra with Marisa A weapon. In my opinion it is better than laser. And on her second card you can hide in the upper corners to avoid vertical lasers. Not that I'm trying to be smart. Because I'm not.
I know what it's like <_< Although I'm having trouble simply getting the Extra stage it is so easy just to make a simple slip up and completely screw yourself over. Saying that, getting as far as you did, even with Slowdown is an achievement, I'm still having trouble with Sakuya <_<

I've had worse happened to me, during a Hard run of UFO, I actually managed to lose my last life during Byakuren's DEATH EXPLOSION
Probably a few milliseconds before the invulnerability would have kicked in.

you keep panicking. try doing runs without bombs at all, and see if you can survive situations you normally bomb in. that might help a bit.
