He's brilliant... and @ evoxtcy it was released as a studio version on his Face Value album... track 5 or 6 I think, and it has a real mournful bluegrass slide sound in the background. Very moving version the album one!

This could have been from the Wiltern. We played for a week at the Forum in LA and then did an unannounced show at the Wiltern after finishing the Forum gigs. It's a very good piece of music and I like this version way more then original. But one day I was walking down the street and listening to this song and I thought could it be Eric Clapton playing solo guitar in this song ? It sure sounds like him and I now they have performed together a lot. I would be happy if anyone could answer my question :) .

Thanks for uploading. I've looked all over for this song. I got to see him perform this song in Chapel Hill, NC at the Dean Smith Center. It was one of the greatest shows I ever got to see. I felt lucky to see him perform this then and I feel lucky now that someone has uploaded. it. As far as I know it was never been recorded for retail sale.

@evoxtcy This version comes from a special edition of the 'Do You Remember - live' CD single that came in a very nice carousel-shaped box. It is very rare, though, and I can imagine why you might never have seen it around. That CD single also featured the semi-acoustic live version for 'Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore' that was performed on the second half of that same tour.

I would like to ask poster (if he's still around) how he knows this is from "The Wiltern Theatre" in Los Angeles - is this confirmed, or just based on the comment by a user here previously?

I can confirm what others also said: The source of this is an official single, Do You Remember Live (limited edition carousel cover) that has this as a B-side. I have the single, and it doesn't list the origin of the recording, hence my question. Song was only performed in September gigs of the 1990 tour.

their used to be on youtube a really rockin version of doesn't anybody stay together anymore from the serious tour perfored in tokyo. it was more like the album version but with way better instrumentals. disappeared a few days later from youtube. please don't remove this. these are great rareties that should always stay for everyone to enjoy.

dont know who posted it but it rocked. the guitars where heavier, the keaboards where heavier, phil was on piano as well. brad cole played light organs along with the heavey keyboards. it sounded like it was a b-side from a single released during the serious tour. it was an mp3 with just photos of phil. the ending rocked with first the music dieing down and just phil singing, then the music takes over and phil hits the piano hard as he song closes with a bang. i luv da soft version but dis rockd

good luck in deed. when i found it it was located under " phil collins rare" know all i find on youtube is the version from the seriously live dvd. (i dont sleep much. when the kids are asleep at night i usually look up my faave artists and hope the light from my netbook does not wake them. it's funny when i first found that rockin kiss ass vrsion of doesnt anybody stay together anymore live in tokyo, i pressed play and didnt know my vulume was up high. luckly da kid sleeps like a rock on drugs

What a great gift for this Thanksgiving weekend! Truly outstanding! Very happy. Can't wait to play it for the "non-believers" that this rock version existed.

This live version is pretty rare, and is the only track not available on the "Serious Tour - live in Berlin" video/DVD which was officially released.

It was released as a B-side for the "Do You Remember [live]" single, but only on the collectors edition single that was housed in a carrousel shaped cardbox.

Sadly, other great songs performed early on this tour like All Of My Life and Find A Way To My Heart were not released officially, and only exist on bootleg soundboard recordings.
