Gamers grow up, but does that mean that they have to become as obsessed with violent games as they have? If you look at comments below, most people mention 2 games when talking about the Wii, and those are Mad World and No More Heroes, do you not see something wrong with that? Those were, in no way, anywhere near the best game on the Wii, and yet, because blood sprays from exit wounds, it is considered one of the best.
@xChrisBoulterx Don't get me wrong, I loved Mad World and No More Heroes, but I have to say that, though their stories were quirky and different, they weren't very good, and in those kind of games, the story means a lot to me. I own a PS3 and I play lots of great violent games, but it is not a criteria for me to have fun while gaming. I just have too many friends that can't seem to enjoy games unless they see some sort of violence, and I pity them because they miss out on a lot of great titles.

I myself usually play RPG's, puzzle games and platformers, I have done this for years, I've grown a lot, but what these genres offer is still what I find the most entertaining. I hate when people suggest I convert to shooter games, just because it might be marketed for people my age. I prefer the DS, beats Wii imo.

I thoroughly enjoyed No More Heroes and will be getting No More Heroes 2, and do consider it one of the best games on the system. Add that to all the users that commented about something good about the Mother series on EVERY Earthbound/Mother video. That's a big number!

I saw the commercial and I didn't like it. I searched it and the guy in the back didn't explain a lot about the game and it just showed people playing through it most of the commercial. Also, there's another reason why it's Nintendo's fault that they lost money on Earthbound. They put more money into the advertising than effort.

Reggie's a good spokesperson in one on one interviews, but he sucks in his public speaking appearances (i.e. E3, etc...) I like his more conversational tone in this clip. The Wii still doesn't have a ton of great games, but it is a great system (the Virtual Console makes it all worth it). If you can get your hands on a Wii, do it. You won't regret it.

Gamers grow up, but does that mean that they have to become as obsessed with violent games as they have? If you look at comments below, most people mention 2 games when talking about the Wii, and those are Mad World and No More Heroes, do you not see something wrong with that? Those were, in no way, anywhere near the best game on the Wii, and yet, because blood sprays from exit wounds, it is considered one of the best.

@xChrisBoulterx Don't get me wrong, I loved Mad World and No More Heroes, but I have to say that, though their stories were quirky and different, they weren't very good, and in those kind of games, the story means a lot to me. I own a PS3 and I play lots of great violent games, but it is not a criteria for me to have fun while gaming. I just have too many friends that can't seem to enjoy games unless they see some sort of violence, and I pity them because they miss out on a lot of great titles.

@xChrisBoulterx I find it really sad that you are getting thumbs down for this. Now, I am not one for bashing such games, because in all honesty, sometimes it works as entertainment. I myself usually play RPG's, puzzle games and platformers, I have done this for years, I've grown a lot, but what these genres offer is still what I find the most entertaining. I hate when people suggest I convert to shooter games, just because it might be marketed for people my age. I prefer the DS, beats Wii imo.

@Weyngott I totally agree, it is rather sickening if not simply disappointing that people disagree with my statement, but it is not surprising to me that most people disagree. I thoroughly enjoyed No More Heroes and will be getting No More Heroes 2, and do consider it one of the best games on the system. What Mad World offers is mediocre gameplay and poor storyline in a wireframe-like environment where ultra-violence is the only lasting gimmick, and trust me...it doesn't last long.

I'm aware gamers grow up (I don't play JUST Mario and never did anyway... and I have a 360, too), but Mario doesn't have a certain target age. I'm a 20 year old still enjoying Mario games and plan on kickin' my grandkids' asses when Mario Party 47 rolls around.
Just because Mario yells out some annoying yells sometimes and there isn't a deep, dark story doesn't mean he's locked to audiences that are 13 and under.

Um, no. Actually, it did very well in Japan. That's why they kept making games for it up and till Mother 3. And look at all the fans now! Have you even LOOKED at all the video responces to the PK TubeN' contest and those are just the fans that want the game! Also, Earthbound is the most wanted game on the VC and Mother 1 is the second, both games from the same series. You can't look someone in the eye and say it has a small fanbase after you read this. I meant a huge flop in North America. I obviously meant that since Reggie has no control over games in Japan or other countries. The advertised Earthbound so much in North America and it sold so poorly. It has a a small cult fanbase. They're all dedicated fans so it seems bigger then it actually is. Making a video is easy and a lot were extremely easy to make.
a cult fanbase with around 30000 dedicated fans. I think enough of those very dedicated fans would make videos. The slogan was a joke and it wasn't featured in all of the ads. Look up the the earthbound commercial. It didn't have the slogan. The fact that it got a commercial is crazy because games rarely got commercials back then.

I saw the commercial and I didn't like it. I searched it and the guy in the back didn't explain a lot about the game and it just showed people playing through it most of the commercial. Also, there's another reason why it's Nintendo's fault that they lost money on Earthbound. They put more money into the advertising than effort.

Reggie's a good spokesperson in one on one interviews, but he sucks in his public speaking appearances (i.e. E3, etc...) I like his more conversational tone in this clip. The Wii still doesn't have a ton of great games, but it is a great system (the Virtual Console makes it all worth it). If you can get your hands on a Wii, do it. You won't regret it.
