Thats a load of shit. I have a betta in a five-gallon with loads of fake plants, not the silk kind either, and he has never torn a fin. You just have to not be a complete retard when you look at the plants before you buy them.

Because they are lazy and they treat their fish like desk ornaments instead of living creatures.

Most fake plants will NOT tear betta fins - run a nylon along the edges of the plant. If it catches, it MIGHT tear a bettas fin.

People like the guy who made this vid and invalidthirteen13 have many excuses for their cruelty; they really just think it looks prettier all alone in a tiny cube of water and they don't care if the fish is miserable for it.

The law as it is, is a collective/societal 'moral' code we try and live by - it is subject to disagreement and change. @Fedaykin4321 Considering their natural habitat of mud puddles and rice fields that dry out regularly, forcing them to flop around on the groud/mud in hopes of finding their next mud puddle by chance. Then either dying a long cruel death, not from suffocation because they can breather the same air that we can, but from drying out in the hot day's sun or being beaten to death once they find an already occupied puddle. I'd say a 10 by 10 is not so bad.

There isn't much you can do for a tail biter. Try to keep it occupied with plants and caves. You could try to keep the light off, and see if that's aggravating it. Also, sometimes they bite their tails if they're in too small of tanks. Mine used to, and I moved him up to a 5 gallon and he stopped.

You need to take care of the water. Use aged water with antichlorine. and change water on a regular basis.

Just to clarify..I noticed someone said this fish was a super delta...well they couldn't be more wrong..This fish is an OHM meaning over half moon. For a fish to be considered a Half moon its caudle fin must branch out to 180 degrees(hint a half a moon) Anything under that to 170 degree is a super delta and anything over 180 is call a Over Half moon.
