  • 90% Germans soldiers died at hands of Russians. 60% of WW2 military causalities are Russians

  • tiggseinkrieg

  • @ReaperCoffee the Russians WERE part of the allies. What are you talking about???

  • @TexanHeat1 Technically they were not apart of the allies, it was more of a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". They were apart of the Comintern.

  • @patrikasLTL

    Cia rimtai???

  • hooray for tractor factories

  • @patrikasLTL never the motherland army

  • @patrikasLTL found it a amazing story thank you

  • @patrikasLTL damn u are german? and it was russian sniper?

  • @patrikasLTL 14 yrs old boy ............

    Stalingrad

  • Why didn't they just gas the entire city and saturate it with the stockpiles of surplus mustard gas artillery?

  • @ForImperium Because once they started using gas against the allies, the allies would have a motive to use it against them.

And considering that German planes could no longer effectively bomb Britain, and didn't have sufficient targets in the USSR to bomb, it would have been a bad move.

As a large raid of British Bombers, laden with gas payloads, could quite easily fly anywhere into Germany, and quite easily find a large city, and in one raid, kill hundreds of thousands.

  • @ForImperium thats worth a try but they'd kill their own men as well. as long as the soviets stuck close, the germans were at their mercy

  • @ForImperium how much gas you will need to do such a thing and also they needed to cross the Volga through the city

  • -also 9:32 where was the Mission Accomplished banner? I was told there was one... :D

  • and i'm not russian i'm asian and i've been to russia and US both and what strike me odd is how little americans realize Russian involvment in the war "besides everything else". Majority ppl have a common understanding that "Yeah russian fought as well i think, but D-day did it all..." I suppose it comes from all the Hollywood movies, Lately hollywood started to recognize by movies such as "Enemy at the gates"

  • @ReaperCoffee By early december 1941, before america even declared war, the russians were already pushing the germans back.

-and if your tired of the america did it all war movies, I'd recommend "Brest Fortress"

  • @LeviathanZr6 if i remember the german retreat started in 43,

and dude "brest fortress" is propaganda

  • @giuseppeRraimondo Brest fortress is historical fact confirmed by the Germans themselves lol.

  • @normison69 also band of brothers, but the americans still hit the german position with the morter only shooting 1 time, they can run from the enemy and they enemys cant hit them when they have a easy shoot, but it is all propagandaif you can find a real movie about the war were the germans arent headless chickens

  • @giuseppeRraimondo

Das Boot, best war movie ever imho.

  • @ReaperCoffee Only in the US they're big headed, here in Scotland we know who was deserving of the most credit. everyone deserves credit for it but really the us are egotistical and think they're the bravest,a pure lie.

  • @ReaperCoffee Enemy at the gates is indeed one of the best war movies that showed war in stalingrad..... but it came after 1990, before that it was just propaganda against USSR. americans just didnt want to acknowledge that russians were just as good fighting force.

  • And to the comparison Germans had over 3 million troops in soviet invasion while Africa core which stood against the allies was only 25000 Germans and around 70 000 Italians. It was considered a suicide to be sent to the eastern front for German troops and officers. Statistically a life span of a private in the eastern battle field was only 7 seconds.

  • Russians paid ultimate prize in terms of casualties and played greatest role in the destruction to the natzi machine not the allies. Allies entered the war only after Russians were on the offensive and deep in the Poland. Allies went in only knowing which side is going to win. Only to save the remainder of the Europe from communism. Even Churchill was rather annoyed by American hesitation. With he's famous words after Perl Harbor "it is the happiest day for me, now i can sleep soundly"

  • What would happen to modern countries with their overblown egos if millions of cititzens are dead and onslaught of the most mighty miliatry at hand, with the war against an indestructible army that swept across most powerful nations like they were nothing. To stand against such odds by women and children that is some shit ass courage and mighty feet by Russian people, Westerners always play down Russian role in this war. But would the Britain still stand after such onslaught ??? or America ???

  • wow now that is some shit ass commitment by soviet ppl that never been seen before nor since.... Germans might have stood their ground if their fought not only with their soldiers but with their ppl as well with such courage and devotion. rage and hatred. feeling of of no escape but the battle field which is brought to you.

  • Nothing against the Red Army's stance and ultimate destruction of the vaunted 6th Army but I've never understood why that meglomaniac Stalin wouldn't allow the evacuation of civilians from Stalingrad, or for that matter the hell of Leningrad. If he wanted labor, fine, but the children could have been evacuated.

  • @deriter64 people fight harder when its there children on the line, its not nice but, its true

  • endurance is what wins wars. Here is an example of such

  • Hitler just jinxed himself by saying that he had total victory. Never say u have totally won cuz u just might meet defeat anytime.

  • @patrikasLTL so to speak theyre stupid

  • @patrikasLTL thats because germans are stupid could not beat only 2 of our russian snipers fuck those guys cant beat russians very stupid

  • You dont face stalin and admit defeat

  • That must have been horror for both sides... I have a kind of respect for Russian "No step back" mentality - however its was also forced by Komissar and Machine Gun behind you. One thing I dont quite understand on Adolf's military tactics (If you call them so) is that, WAS it necessary to capture Stalingrad? Why Germans did not surrender it and keep on hold west coast of Volga(?) It would have been possible to seriously damage the ferry traffic from Oil Fields to North.

  • @finnmedals73

actually, main goal was not to cut the traffic, but to protect armies, which advanced to Caucasus.

  • @finnmedals73 hitler was taking more and more power from his staff and he wanted the political victory of capturing the city as it had stalins name, this was also the stage where he started making mistakes and getting paranoid and any general who disagreed was either sacked or hitler just shouted for hours and stormed out

  • @finnmedals73 I watched a documentary on it, they say that some thought Hitler wanted to capture Stalingrad to destroy the factories there which were supplying Soviet troops with weapons, destroying them would cripple the Soviet War Machine, but others say that Hitler had a brain disorder and attacked Stalingrad simply because it had Stalin's name in it.

  • @lemonboy53 It is the position of Stalingrad on the Volga which was the excuse. I tend to believe it was because it had Stalin's name - otherwise it made little sense. The oil fields were a far more sensible target even though capturing them over extended the German lines.

  • @alanheath3 hhahaha yeah, i still fail to understand why Hitler was obsessed with claiming Stalingrad so much, i mean the Oil fields in the Caucaus would be a more valuable asset.

  • at 08:34 you would of thought the germans without anythougth could of taken stailngrad

  • "Gangster warfare" hahahaha.

The Germans were good at mobile warfare but sucked at city warfare.

  • awesome

  • hahahaha

  • @patrikasLTL woah i love hearing stuff like that coz u can learn from any mistakes made if ur unfortunate enough to be stuck in a situation like it

  • There is alot of misinformation running around in the USA right now, especially on conservative talk-radio. My guess is that there is alot of resentment over real issues redirected over the wrong people.

That might be the case with mr.gop here, or he might just be a simple jerk.

    Have a nice one

    Maths

  • wonder if everyone 1 in the soviet union were in the military for example children i wonder if russian children fought in the war?

  • French gave you your independance, ungrateful simpleton.

  • @mathematicsarefun sorry french got beaten and you just dont know the heart of russian soul for their land..we russians fight till the end no matter what are the odds..even though i am russian american i am still proud that my ancestors fought the mongols and kicked them out, fought the french..kicked their butt...and dumb hilter didnt learn a lesson from other people who tried to steal the land for themselves..people need to know that who ever comes to russia with sword shall die but it

  • @college259

    Obvious troll is trolling.

  • @college259 As an British man i can understand the Russian mentality. While the french surrended, us British would never give in and surrender! like the white flag waving french!

  • @brierley2190 well the french did get overrun

  • i love the song at 6:29 it just gets the whole area ready for someting crazy or something disastarous to happen!

  • I believe the "War of the Rats" mentioned at around 1:49 or so, is also the name of a book which was named after those elements of fighting in Stalingrad.

Within this book were a few pages about the Sniper Vezili Zietzef (spelling), which the movie Enemy at the Gates was based on.

  • You are completly right about this. War of the Rats was a great book, and indeed, Enemy at the Gates was based on events mentioned in this book. Great movie btw.

    THX tot FatBoy for uploading!

  • just goes to show what damage one sniper can do to a whle platoon

  • Doesn't Stalin have air support? why dont they use them?

  • Red air force had not re built its strength after the slaughter at the begging of the war, their planes would have been shot down by experienced Luftwaffe pilots

  • @KleopatraLtd i woulend say that, USSR pilots had experience in winter war, polish war, and wars with some baltic countrys.

also lets not forget the spanish civil war, USSR pilots fought there too.

  • @KleopatraLtd beginning :P

  • @KleopatraLtd Luftwaffe was not so good. They lose the battle of Britain against the RAF. Most soviet Planes were destroyed on the ground so the pilots survived. After 1943 the soviet air force was completely rebuilt and stronger than ever. So the Luftwaffe was fucked in the ass. If you would read a book about WW2 you wouldn’t say such stupid things.

  • @KleopatraLtd By the end of 1942 the Red Air Force was beginning to get local air superiority, particularly in the southern region like here.

  • @KleopatraLtd Red airforce went into offensive on equal terms with Luftwaffe at 1943

  • @KleopatraLtd They did.

  • Red army lost 1/2 of it's air force at first day of war. It was total suprice for them. But in june 1942 soviets multiplied their military effords 10 times and by 1945 they had more of everything than any other country fighted in WW2.

  • they couldn't get enough electricity to power the stage... it takes a lot of power to run a rock concert ya know...
