To be specific, Muse have originally written this song for themselves, but after the recording they did not think it would fit their fourth album Black Holes and Revelations eventually, according to Muse it would not be 'Musey' enough. So the song remained unreleased. Then a fan (Adam Lambert) was able to get Soaked on his album (it is stated that Matthew Bellamy also wrote the other version of Soaked for Adam's debut album), thanks to Muse! This soaked has been released.

@Spedo09 I'm not interested in head voice range. I haven't listened much to Adam Lambert but he seems to be hitting higher chest voice notes than Matt, atleast he uses much better technique. Actually didn't know he had 'increased' his vocal range or rather discovered it being higher than before but well, that F#2 is a bit meh but anyway I don't really care about lowest note since neither Matt or Adam use their lower range much.

I'm a huge Muse fan.....as much as I love Muse's version, I love Adam's voice. Not as much as Bellamy's, but it's very smooth. I think he does a fabulous job of putting his own style on this. I approve :) but if I had to choose on who released this....definitely Muse.

I think this sounds amazing, Adam Lambert brings a lot to it but for me I think that it appeals to me so much due to the fact that it really is such a Muse sound (not surprising, i know but still...)

I'm a huge Muse fan.....as much as I love Muse's version, I love Adam's voice. Not as much as Bellamy's, but it's very smooth. I think he does a fabulous job of putting his own style on this. I approve :) but if I had to choose on who released this....definitely Muse.

Yeah, this guy has got a good voice but Matt's voice had more feeling and sadness in it. Muse's version has more soul. I mean, this could be mistaken for a happy song - Muse's version actually sounds like a sad song - which it actually is.
And Muse didn't have to go onto a stupid show to get famous,....
