It is certainly a guy in a suit - why else would the suit need place for the back of the actors legs and heels? The arms at the 'elbow' make no connection with the shoulders in order for the actor to fit in.

When I lived in milton keynes around 2002-03 there was a similar act which appeared in a shopping centre there. On first impressions it uses a really powerful sound system which intimidates and that's why people believe it's real. I think it's a really cool take on contemporary circus, the audience have to believe it's a robot because that's what the act is all about.

when tian went in big brother, dave said it was a remote control like thing, some agree. others say theres a person inside it, some agree. i wander if there might be more than one way to control titan, like you can do it by remote control or like from the inside. or maybe they do both at once, one person inside, one by control. who knows, but one thing i am sur eof is that this robot is awesome!

@lpsp2 titan is a remote controlled robot,the operater uses a control pannel on the back of the transport pod. titan launches itself, which is why you might see the operator jump at the control after titan is up and moving. titan detects detects and relays information about his environment back to the operator, who uses it to return appropriate instructions.

@DJVennim there is a 3D imaging camera behind the chest plate. its a 2 way mirror. the camera can distinguish the difference between colour, and even the shade of colour, so it can act according to the object. (for example, there is one clip that has titan singing lady in red to a lady in a red jacket)

This doesnt even show the sound system or the Carbon Fibre/ Kevlar composite armour (obviously) but what you can see is all the actuators that control both arms, wrists and the fingers on the right side. And if you look really closely to can see the leads going from the laptop to the com ports on the controllers at the back of the robot. It was taken in my garage loading samples/programs, I love homework, dont you?

The operator can select from a computer program, like for instance a .wav file (program) that he wants to activate depending on the situation in his environment .i.e If the operator sees a lady wearing red (and theres always one) he can play a short clip from a Lady in Red track. I always do that whenever I can when Im operating, its a bit like being a mobile DJ but adding a another dimension , oh! and if a man is wearing a hat you can activate the leave your hat on sample. So..

Youve got 240 samples to play with that you can activate in less than 0.2 of a second (such fun!) You can even have a conversation with a person just using the samples. Thats the key with Titan. Theres no other concept like it but it does take over 6 months to be able to perform with the upper section. Its for ever fighting you. Its like hes got a mind of his own. God help us if we ever get it to walk in a straight line without cables

Anyway, wants the program is activated on the computer the interface acts out the program fully controlling the neck, head up and down left and right, both arms, both hands and wrists but only the fingers on the right side due to the fact we can not cram any more hardware in that left hand, its chock-a- block!

Where was I, ah! yes. Again you can see the full workings minus me on Titan the Robot Uncovered oh and on Titan the robot prototype. Bet you cant guess how I did that one! No camera tricks honest! We couldnt get the bloody thing to walk by its own weight so if you look really closely you can see the cables on runners. The Titles at the end cover up the wires. Big long letters! Works every time.
