I've been up Tryfan three times now, but never had any inclination to do the jump. It looks not particularly difficult, but very exposed: not just the drop between the stones, but the much bigger drop on the east side. It's not an interesting technical challenge; its only real appeal is the danger itself. Last time I was on Tryfan, someone was encouraging children in his group to do the jump, which I found irresponsible.
@MegaTories You need to get "the freedom of the mountain" hence most people do it, three times for me. What a fantastic Mountain range the Welsh are blessed with, even though they're North Welsh and a bit of a taboo.
ha ha I made a stick figure animation of this......made me laugh when I found your vid as you do a dance just like in my animation......will try and post mine as a video response : -)
I jumped these stones back in 1998. However it was really windy and wet and out of a group of 12-15 people only 2 jumped them. I was one of them and when jumping I slipped on my ass but never fell off the stone. (I was quite lucky - But it was fun).
climbed tryfan yesterday, was far to windy to even attempt this !

well the stones are 2 or 3 meters high, but there on top of a mountain nearly 1000 meters high, so the exposure is pretty intense!
