  • Publius Enigma...

  • mason...the best drummer ever

  • Hm,I think ill pop the blue pill, err or will it be the Mushrooms,Nah Im popping the red pill. Wicked band, thank's for the memories.

  • what a band, what music. only led zep come a close 2nd as for modern bands/music pls dont even mention that trash!

  • the publius enigma.........

  • this is music at its finest!

  • I've always wondered about something, so now I'm going to ask others' opinions. With this Ludwig drumset that Nick Mason is banging on, I believe he has a 22" bass drum for his right foot, and a 24" bass drum for his left foot. So I wonder- Why is that? I'm a drummer and all I can think of is perhaps when he plays both bass drums (which he does occasionally) he has the bigger bass drum for his left foot to make up for the lack of power / "thud" that his left foot can generate..What do you think?

  • @ChiefLongstick most metal drummers use identical bass drums to create the familiar fast-paced beats. But a lot of jazz drummers, like Louie Bellson (who invented the double bass kit) and Ginger Baker of Cream have two different bass drums so they can get a variety of tones. I think Nick might've switched to using identical bass drums later on, not sure.

  • @metallideth83 Very interesting, I don't know if I would've thought of that. It makes perfect sense though. I admire how drummers back in the day used bigger kits to get a wide variety of tones. So why not do the same with your bass drums? That's very cool. And I'm positive that when Pink Floyd was on the DSOTM tour Nick's Vistalite kit had identical sized bass drums. During the Brighton, London show his Fibes had identical bass drums, and his WYWH / Animals kits also had identical bass drums.

  • Back @metallideth83 Thank you for the insight, and for the information. Much appreciated!!!

  • pink floyd </3

  • what a fucking brilliant team!

  • epic !

  • i agree with u...he has changed so much, roger waters, david gilmour and richard wright haven't changed that much...only davi got fatter

  • hard to believe thats the same nick mason from now a days lol

  • @

    lipidgreen

he plays the ride cymbal with this stick. check it out, you can't hear it till he gets his other stick

    :)

  • dubstep.

Pink Floyd invented the wobble bass.

  • Stick flies out of his hand at 5:01

  • la version a ete ralentie....Ca m'accroche un peu les oreilles

  • One of these days i'm gunna blast this music into my neighbors fucking house.

  • "One of these days im going to cut you into little pieces" is suppost to be about a pig butcher right? speaking to a fat pig, am i right? about to chop it up for distribution. fellas, tell me if im wrong.

  • This is way before they started putting pig references everywhere.

  • No dude,

From what I read a long time a go, It was about a person who the band didn't like. This person cut tape, or edited the music the band recorded. Cutting you into little pieces would have been all done on tape.

  • how come i don't see mason drop a stick and then quickly picking up another without missing a beat? i mean i see him change sticks at one point.

  • :-O..............

  • To Yvarg

You put the director's cut video, do you know that in the dvd you have the original concert (in features)?

I've personaly never loved the director's cut version (I think these bad quality space pictures are useless).

  • I agree. I hate the space pictures and cheesy animation, but at the same time, love the documentary sections.

  • pezzo fantastico!!!!

  • Only one way to describe this vid#

    Fuckin epic!!!!

  • this song is COLD!!! i suppose its about how the process of meat distribution relates to people and government, life in the u.s..

  • this type of song is too much for an ignorant like you to understand its meaning. Yeah buddy your iq is low. now get the fuck out of here and listen to your kanye west and lady gaga crap.

  • The cameras were broken during the filming of this song, hence no roger waters.

  • Hm, so where is Roger in all these Pompeii videos? Maybe that explains why he took over the band into the commercialization drain....

  • he's in all of them except this one, which is all about nick mason...

  • io li adoro cazzo!

  • He drops his stick at 5:01

  • and doesnt even miss a beat

  • I think the one from the studio kinda dosent rock and haunt you so much as well as this version. this is such a good piece, so is the echoes song its way better that studio version, and so is saucerful!! well i guess i just wish i had live in Pompeii in a compact disc so i can jam it while im traveling ask one of the band mates if theyll do it.

  • live at pompeii is a musical and cinematic masterpiece.

  • El comienzo de esta parte es Genial =D

  • What a great song from a great album and a great dvd. Geniuses.

  • demasiado bueno como para ser de este mundo!!!!

  • this is fascinating

  • this is some awesome Nick mason drumming here, so BA. and if the jb did a cover of this it would probably be fucked up and ruined. jb fuckin suck

  • wow this song does sound like the doctor who theme tune in parts like at the front and midway through

  • Does anyone else's heart start to beat a little faster when he pulls out the sticks and starts hammering on those drums?

  • mine do wheneva i listen to them lol

  • Just the fucking shit!

  • one of the best rock band ever!

    Pinck floyd= Great,god,ufo!!!

  • Nick Mason finally gets his due!!!! Amen, brother. You dig it? You feeling me?

  • There's something so haunting about this song.

And did I mention that Nick Mason is the SHIT?! He's so bad ass. Definitely my favorite drummer in classic rock history, if not all time.

    ....

"And one of these days....the world will understand that madness and insanity is fueled by its distrust of it."

  • i just love this.

  • I'm sorry, what? The Jonas Brothers should cover Pink Floyd? Can I ask why? I'm not sure what the Jonas Brothers, or any band for that matter, can add to their music to make it better or more interesting. Because that's what a cover is supposed to do. Make something fresh and interesting.

I sincerely hope this was just an attempt at your part to rile people up because I'd hate to think you were being serious.

  • Are you fucking serious, man? The fucking Jonas Brothers? Pink Floyd was made up of geniuses. The Jonas Brothers are made up of a bunch of pre-pubescent virgins who don't know shit about good music.

  • I love that comment. Reading that made my day :) No one could have put it any better lol.

  • This song has pretty much inspired me to make a psychedelic rock band. There's just too much fucking emo and screamo shit these days!

  • This video could almost be called the "Nick Mason Drum Show" LOVE IT!!! Got the video, major Floyd fan, here.

  • it still cracks me up when it goes to nine simultaneous shots of nick mason....have you ever seen anything like it for a drummer. so cool!

  • its lucky that mason was so on form when they lost all the tapes of the other members

  • "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces!"

  • Nick Mason throws his stick at around 5:02, but he doesn't miss a beat..

This is my favorite song on the whole album..

  • this is a song to play in interstellar space. pink floyd will be some kind of mitological gods, thousands of years from now.

  • I've always kinda thought that, too.

  • that poor drum set. nick fuckin killed it! awesome video.

  • This song is so ominous. I would listen to this as I watched the world explode.

  • 4:40-5:00 Amazing! love that organ in the backgound too!

  • Amazed. Simply amazed.

  • This... This is real music... Not just music, but also art, Pink Floyd is the best band ever, that is NOT an opinion, it is a fact.

  • I disagree, thus making it your opinion.

  • Well, Neil Young may be almost as good...

  • hahahahahaha hahaha ha yeah right haha

  • Go fuck yourself and the Jonas Brothers while you're at it.

  • @ThrashingKOKris opinion man sorry! I love PF but their were and are way better bands than them!

  • did anyone else notice at 5:01 he flings his drum stick?

  • and only skips 1 beat! i've love this part of the movie, and it's my fav song of theirs

  • To paraphrase someone else, "The save is what separates live from recorded."

  • BTW Rick Is Doing A Beautiful Job On The Keyboard & David On The Guitar. Such amazing Guys! They All ARE!!!!

  • Ans Roger on the bass :)

They are so talented each and together they form an euphoric explosion of rythms and beats ...

  • Oh ok I hear that now...thanks.

  • What do they say at 3:51.....I've never been able to figure it out.

  • One of these days i'm going to cut you into little pieces

  • That's also the full name of the song

  • tssssssssssss nick se la rifo en esta cancion, la escucho y mi mente explota en un caleidoscopio de imagenes acidas

  • yes nick was amazing, the song is cold and searing. when you hear the thump thump thump thump in the middle right before nick speaks, those thumps are the sound of someone trying to wake you up from a near death exp.

  • this song is dark

  • imagine being a surfer in the 70's man and this was the sound waaaaaoooooooow mmmmaaaaaaaannnn

  • 5:01 wow que intensidad volo la baqueta

  • no abra tirado la baqqueta?

  • Pink Floyd like allways the best

  • This version is better and more fun for a drummer to play. Mason didn't miss a beat when he lost a stick

  • Publius Enigma...

  • Comment removed

  • own this dvd, love it, great drum work by mason, but i just REALLY hate how they film him the whole time, lol

  • i love how at 5:02 Nick looses his drum stick and recovers like it was nothing!!! he is the best drummer ever along with phil collins he rules too!

    YAY FOR PINK FLOYD!!!!

  • This is my 'Enegy Nummer'. Nick Mason one of the Bests !!! (My favourite drummer)

  • Great work by mason, but I prefer the studio version better than the live one.

  • nick mason es y siempre sera el mejor baerista

  • ja.... y aparte agragale la mayor coleccion de ferraris

  • mi vengono i brividi...

  • vintage Floydness

  • Nick Mason is a badass

  • slash not gonna lie, I think nick had a meeting with good ol' Alice before the recording. he looks possessed

  • bout time someone noticed the great drummer Nick Mason

  • what keyboard is richard using?

  • dude, people tend to forget that the bass is the main instrument in this song, i mean roger waters had some shit going on, but i cannot deny nick's drumming, they guys freaking amazing, and hilarious for that matter

  • none beat the floyd in originality or songwriting but another great progressive band is yes

  • Pink Floyd ROCK!!!!

Nick Mason is ab excellent drummer and dont deny it !!!

He loses his stick at 5:00 lolz

    GREAT Stuff!!!!

  • I love David Gilmour!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ME TOO XD!!!

  • whateverdude.

  • not a musician, eh? he has back-up sticks in his stick bag thats mounted on his first floor tom, much the same as guitarists have back-up guitars and picks nearby, vocalists with back-up mics nearby. the only reason this was left in the production, is because alot of the footage of this was lost in transit. notice that you dont ever see roger or richard? him losing a stick would otherwise have been edited over with someone else, and the viewer would have been none the wiser.

  • Excuse me for how you see things...

  • Nick is a veeeeery creative drummer

    hes rithm is very distinctive...

Many people now think that to play fast is to play well, playing fast is just a style, people should judge music from its quality, originality, ect...

  • YEAH IN RESPONSE TO YOUNG PEOPLE NOT APPRECIATING THEM unfortunately its true most people now days think someone is a shitty drummer if they don't double bass the whole song and cant really appreciate how to play drums or hell for any other instrument either anyone who knocks Floyd needs to just go back to their damn jonas brothers videos ya know

  • actually i know tons of young people who like floyd. im 14 and theyre tied for my fav band...

  • yeah bro... PF's been my favorite band since 6th grade. It is true though, it takes a lot of time for my peers, for example, to respect the floyd, much less at my level.
