  • Howdy all, I'm sharing my 2 full length albums here on Youtube for free, just check out my channel and let me know what you think!

  • Wow. The Opry actually had someone on it that isn't trying to sound like everyone else. Bravo!

After the 90's, I'm sorry to say that I feel like the Opry went downhill. Today's musicians wanna sound like everyone else. Glad to see they're starting to spread out the talent now.

P.s. - Is there anybody else that thinks he'll be able to pull off those tight jeans 'til he's 80? ;)

  • Dwight doesn't like Nashvegas....thus the 16 years he hadn't been there. He's in a class all his own. The real deal. He is the epitome of country and cool. Rock on Dwight.

  • dwight is the man, the badass !!!

  • Merry Christmas

    P

  • GIT R DONE!

  • I have seen you twice and cant wait to see you again!

  • only man that can rock jeans that tight

  • Dwight's a badass

  • What song did he play here?

  • LENNY HENRY HOLMES CIA AUTHORISED FBI WANTED

  • I keep picturing him chasing after Jodie Foster with a sledge hammer lol He played an awesome psycho lol

  • this is my all-time favourite song!! 1000 miles, that is!, but also others of this great man.

Whenever things aren't good, they get better after listening to 'The Dwight !'

  • Listen to the song "Beauty Turned Ugly" by Kaz Piech!

  • His performance in Sling Blade was phenomenal, when you think of his music persona. I had never really heard much (any) of his music before I saw Sling Blade. I always associate him with that, but he is so different it's like a different person. Sign of a good actor I guess.

  • @ufotofu9 He was the greatest movie villain of all time (Doyle) in Slingblade...just because he was so damn real, and he was evil, that nobody would stand up to him except the kid, and you knew Doyle was going to get his revenge on the kid, except Carl took care of that.

  • ......ya know, I've always loved Dwight Yoakam, but I never really noticed that he totally sings through his nose.....doesn't matter, still love him, just an observation. And he's a really good actor as well....

  • @aplaf1 Or David Allen Coe, and Johnny Cash!

  • Eddie Perez!

  • I am a huge Dwight fan, but I think that he might have stopped at the bar on the way to the Opry,

  • Dwight is absolutely the epitome of country cool!

  • Dwight Yoakam is a music legend. So much talent under one hat. If you ever get a chance to see him live, do it.

  • i have cowboy boots beacuse of this guy

  • @aplaf1 to be a member you have to pay and sign a contract. These people were to smart to play Nashvilles game

  • OMG love love love dwight yoakam, just seen him 2 weeks ago, front row and center best seat in the house!!!!

  • @aplaf1 Murder on Music row... #1 Suspect: Nashville, TN.. Verdict: GUILTY!!!!!! LONG LIVE REAL COUNTRY!

  • This video can be used to calculate the chance of accidentally pressing Dislike. (12/1009)

  • Man, theres just something about Dwight!!!!

  • those are some tight jeans

  • I saw DY in Austin, Texas last night. He kicked ass - rocked the joint. Two thumbs.

  • @aplaf1 i actually have to correct you because don williams, willie nelson and ray price are opry members....

  • Heard on theradio that Peter Berg originally wanted Dwight to play Eric Taylor on Friday Night Lights.

  • @aplaf1 pretty sure Hank Sr. never got reinstated, seems like none of the greats are

  • please STOP with the stupid adds B4 playing a video... /or face a dislike

  • he's the best thing in Country music after Hank sr. Buck & Merle--------I mean that---

  • SHOBNA GULATI CAPS LOCK TONIGHT SOUNDTRACK ADJUSTMENT £1.03 £156.46 PLAYTIME

  • @aplaf1 Some of those guys used to be members but left the permanent cast.

  • @aplaf1 They have all been invited many times, but turn it down.

  • @aplaf1 I would have guessed that almost all of those people would be Opry members. That is a real shame. What are they waiting for?

  • my favorite country songwriter and singer i am from greece and i love this music

  • Comment removed

  • if george strait is the king of country then let's make dwight the president or something. he knows how country should sound and not make it sound like what this modern crap that they play on the radio

  • @MrIrishcowboy I am a huge george strait fan but my second favorite has always been dwight, so I find this appropriate

  • @aplaf1 I think it has something to do with The Opry's requirements to perform a certain amount of Saturdays per year in order to be a "member". It is not a reflection of the quality of the country artist.

  • @aplaf1 There was an interview with George Strait some years back when they asked him about becoming a member... The Opry membership requires certain numbers of performances and appearances, and King George did not feel he could realistically give the membership the time needed...therefore, he is not a member. As for the rest, could be the same.....

  • Not only did the Opry let him in. Houstons (a restaurant in Nashville) back when no one knew who Dwight Y. was or heard of him. Would not let him enter with holes in the knees of his jeans. LOL

  • it's those pants.....................

  • dwight ranks #1

  • Well, Nashville did turn him down when he was first gettin started!

  • I think Dwight is so sexy !

  • @aplaf1 wow! that is alarming and confirmed by Google of grand ole opry members list

    what are they thinking?

  • @aplaf1... I say it's the opry...if all these greats are left out...Earl Scruggs?, Merle Haggard?,and of course Dwight? as well as most of these others you mention...it's definitely the opry...shame!

  • Picky, Picky-So what if they are not OPRY members-I like 'em all YAHOOO!

  • I've just recently started listening to country and discovered Dwight. Can someone tell me the title of the last song in this clip? Thanks a bunch and sorry for bad english.

  • @zg2905jb "Little Sister"

She won't stop listening to you songs. I do appreciate your music. but when she does go if the last song i hear is yours she would be at peace and so would my brothers, myself, and sisters. Go Steelers! 2011 Super Bowl.

  • my eternal crush, he's timeless, muah

  • If you think that an't country, you apparently have no idea what country music is. Nashville is a good example of whats not country right now. Most country now is damn warmed over soft rock from the 70s and yet it gets the label of country because most of the singers are southern. Its country music, not country singers doing what ever genre makes them the most money as a crossover hit.

  • What a splendid show!! Dwight rules with his endless string of top-class songs. when is he coming to Europe?!?

  • Nice work Dwight!!

Thanks for sharing this great video!!

  • Hey teresahoopsdetroit...since when is GUILD a junk guitar??? I think your arse is sucking wind, as well as your head......

  • @zeke957 You've got me mixed up with 46r11...... that was his answer to my post. I LOVE Dwight!!! I don't know one guitar from another. He could be playing a washboard for all I care, I'd still think he was great

  • @teresahoopsdetroit ....I am soooo sorry...my bad..i apolagise for the mistake...I wrote that early in the morning before going to sleep, I must have copied the wrong name...sorry again.

  • There is just something about the way this man dances.....wow! LOL! Sexy / Ugly!

  • Wow! This little medley is really fun!

  • I seen Dwight at the Greek in LA and I just love his TWANG! Gotta love it!

  • simply, Superb.

  • Love the music just about everything from uplifting and fun awesome guitarist

  • after 16 years he sounds even better one of the greatist country singers of all time

  • Simply the best!! The Opry loses for not having him on the show!! He's more country than most out there today...he is timeless!!

  • @teresahoopsdetroit The man sings through his nose, he's ranked 66 overall by the CMA I think Nashville is right this guy hasn't got it

  • @46r11 No, he does not sing through his nose. The CMA doesn't have a clue anymore as to what is country and what isn't. Therefore I ( and many others ) do our own "ranking". This guy has does have it, whether you agree or not.

  • @teresahoopsdetroit Hello Teresa, you also are entitled to your opinion, and I would also agree that the CMA makes strange selections at times when it comes to ranking the singers. But you know how Dwight got were he is and it wasn't because of his talent, it was because he knew someone in the music industry. Listen to the song over again and tell me he doesn't sing through his nose. The man has no talent, he even plays a junkbox for a guitar,

  • @46r11 i dont have to listen over again, have been listening to him over 20 years, the man writes all his music, and i like the way he sings. A very talented man whether singing or acting or writing songs

  • @46r11 Your statement "Dwight got where he is because he had a friend" is incorrect. I knew Dwight when he first got to LA and I know who helped him get a demo to shop around. Three people worked together to make it happen for him and non of them were in the industry. AND Dwight was the hardest working guy out there promoting his music and himself. Plus, you do not seem to know your guitars either. Look up the price of this one.

  • @Tones4me1 Listen, I have no problem with you liking this guy if thats your thing. But the overall ranking tell the truth and he is not recognized in the top fifty, even if you go back twenty years he doesn't appear in the top fifty. Look it up for yourself if you don't believe me. And as far as guitars go I think I do know as Ive been recording for forty years, the guitar he is playing is a junker.

  • @46r11 You are entitled to have your closed minded opinion but why would you hold your standards to everyone else? If Dwight likes the tone of this guitar and it gives him his own sound then it is priceless to him. And the same goes for Willey and all the other great players out there. The sound isn't in the box, it's in the hands that play them.

  • @Tones4me1 Now I know you don't know what your talking about, your comparing Dwight with Willie??" take a look at what Willie plays and all the others who know guitars and you will find 98 percent of them play Martins. Its usless to try to explain because your stuck on this guy who sings through his nose so good luck with it

  • @46r11 No, what I am saying is that no one appointed you to be the "guitar police". End of story. And the Willy reference was that his guitar box is so old and play out that there is little left of it and I don't care for the tone of it but that does not mean he is an amazing talent. And I am not comparing the talent of Willy to Dwight either. Just saying that guitars come in all variations and they have the FREEDOM to play the one they want. The End.

  • @Tones4me1 Not a problem. And you enjoy what you like and live in your little world with no thought of ventureing out to see the real world

  • @46r11 I only wish you knew who I am and where I have been. My name is on more than one album, is yours?

So let's just agree to...move on. Thanks.

  • @Tones4me1 Good for you, if you have done what you say you have then you know his guitar is a piece of junk. I do not have my name on any albums and my only claim to fame is I played two shows with Ralph Stanley in Peterborough Ontario Canada when his guitar player was ill.

  • @46r11 All I can say to you is this: Johnny Cash was askesd who was his favorite female country artist, and it was Emmy Lou. He was then asked who was his favorite male country artist, he said Dight Yoakam !!!

Gibsons rock, Martins sound ok, but are very boring guitars. NO SOUP FOR YOU ! Dwight rules in a lot of our hearts as you can see here, bud.

  • @robalo66 You are out of touch with the real world. Martin;s are rated the top guitar with Gibson fourth. Gibson has a very basey tone and is not meant to be played when one sings solo. Martin has a much higher pitch and is ideal to be played in any circumstance. If Johnny said that he was stung out on drugs or drunk as a hootowl.

  • @46r11 REALLY

  • @teresahoopsdetroit Dwight paid homage to his musical country heroes and helped bring Rockabilly back in style. The Opry has it's own priorities but I can't follow their bouncing ball of thought.

  • Dwight is an Awesome Great Entertainer!!! I have been listening, going to concerts for 16 years now and I love this man!

  • Awesome music.....you bring it home Dwight.....from a faithful Canadian listener!!!
