  • I can't believe how few hits this has!

  • Religiouse is another interesting group of people... o_O )))

  • Monkeys.

  • sagan would be sick if he were to hear the personification of god attributed to him in this song. he believed 'god' is the set of universal natural laws which require the same amount of prayer as gravity.

  • I think Carl would have seen that theme in the song/video but would have understood the irony that was being conveyed... apparently you missed it .. that's what's cool about this medium, people form different interpetations - thanks for watching

  • well that's what i got i suppose. it sounded like blatant worhsipping to me, lol.

  • @anglaismoyen

Hero worship is harmless, if 2 points are adhered to:

    1) You choose well.

    2) It doesn't keep you from making the world a better place. IE., one's hero didn't finish the job- there's still work to do.

  • Irony indeed. I think Carl would have approved...

People, please listen to and think about the entirety of the song before assuming this to be some sort of attempt at aligning the divine with science...

  • I'd like to hear this slower extended version done with Vera and Katie.

  • If it's only us, it's a waste? That's a pretty poor attitude about being such a miraculous accident. No?

  • If you knew Carl Sagan you would know why that line is in the song

  • Miracle? If you watched Cosmos, you might see things in a little different context. Lucky for you, Cosmos just sarted running on the Science Channel again.

BTW, I spoke with my friend, a TV-science guy, and he too thought the lyrics expressed staunchly pro-religious sentiments. Oops.

  • Staunchly religious? It's not what I was going for but that's what's cool about music, you can have your own interpretation

  • I would rather that it be more overtly obvious in its meaning. Your imagery does clarify the lyrics somewhat. I think i know where you're coming from, but can understand why most people think the song is very pro-religion.

  • I believe that is a reference to the old "if there's no other life out there, it's an awful waste of space".

  • Wonderful and clever.

If it's only us, it sure would be a waste.

  • What hardware and software did you use to create this?

  • Well Made. Gotta love Carl

  • Hey there. Looks like you used one of my photos in your video. Feel free to check out my one of a kind Saga videos shot in Carl's adopted town of Ithaca, NY.
