Wow, didn't think i'd see footage of Nimba ever again.. we stayed there from 76-79 then moved to Buchanan from 80-82 as my dad was working in Ore Handling..
Crazy Hans, I remember the name but can't picture the face.. But I do remember a German guy going by the name of Fritz, up in Nimba.. He had all the mod cons, even back then, and I remember being in the back of his suped up VW Beetle as he flew up the road towards his apartment in Area F.. Great Fun.. and Silver Beach was Paradise island..
uuuhhhh this is highly nostalgic!! used to live there between `73 and 76´. beautiful strong amazing place. made a huge print in my life. thank you!!!!!
I too love this video, it brings back so many memories.
The airfield in this video is Grassfield about 5 miles from Yekepa township and the aircraft is a 2-seater Piper Colt (not Cub as someone asked) which belonged to the Lamco Nimba Aero Club where I flew as an instructor during 1969-71.
Greetings to all of you especially old friends and flying students.
I lived there for almost three year I've got a full documantation of every thing 1960-1963 including the airport close to the first LAMCO base, i.e. the Grass Field, about 1 mile away from the airport.. I went to school on the grass field and then we moved to Yekeepa 1963.

God bless you for posting this video! I lived in Yekepa and Voinjama during the years 78-81 and 83-86. Yekepa was for me then paradise on earth. I will never, ever forget me and my family's time in Yekepa. Hope to visit Liberia one day...
