Are you from the Austin area? Sorry i read the description and saw the ACC sign on the floor. I plan to attend ACC in the fall :P. I wont be going to learn ASL, i learned from Leander High School, I hope to test out of ASL 1 and hopefully into ASL 3 or 4 (hopefully, because we have a badass teacher and she is known around this area to produce good students :P )

Hi Insaneymaney, yes there are two signs in this song but they're interpreted in ASL and in a visual way. There is another sign for hell by the way. Yes, location in the stomach... boiling heat and furious were the signs I used for hell. Hope it helps.

Hi Insaneymaney, guess what? There is no direct correlation between an English word and a sign. Signs represent concepts or ideas, not individual English words. So, while the song says "gives you hell" this person is signing ASL to express the meaning of that line. Do you see why he would sign something meaning "When you look me in the eye, I hope it makes you feel furious and boiling mad inside?" That's the *meaning* of "gives you hell." See what I'm saying? Because ASL is not English.

Cassandra-- Sometimes switching dominant hands helps convey two separate ideas (i.e. "truth be told I miss you" and then "truth be told I'm lying"). In this context, it works well :)
