As such, some games just won't run on a certain computer, for literally no reason! However, Steam (& Gabe) knows this just as well as I, & my issue with Gabe is that his co., Steam, would not refund me, or even offer tech support for the game that didn't work, & said it wasn't their problem! Cust. serv. is his responsibility. It's his co., after all, right?

@Shaw52587 Game developers choose the middleman approach because the middleman actually provides them a service; such as providing APIs, allowing easier community support, fast deployment of patches, and also, the non-refundability of games you've used (you don't actually lose the game till you activate it) means people don't cheat developers out of the money they deserve. Frankly, Valve have done everybody a favour, except maybe pirating criminals such as yourself.

You're mistaken; all games can be accessed offline with offline mode. The games are legally owned by the account, which in turn is held as a service by Steam. While you may no longer own the game physically, you are still able to access it and Valve have no reason to deny you the service unless you're abusing the system. How can you make a comment on the support (which is often effective and fast) without using Steam you hypocrite? Sounds like you're spouting somebody else's bullshit!

Valve has been, first and foremost, a PC developer. it's their primary platform. either way, it'll probably be made for PC then converted for console use. same engine, different control setup. same as they did with Portal 2 for the X-Box...
