On the black truck, did you have to custom cut the springs to get that progressive stack? I recall someone made a kit for that but I can't remember who and I can't seem to find anything on them. If had to cut your own springs, where or what did you use for the separating collar? I'd love to use this for my SCTs. Slash springs are nice but are still limiting.

Absolutely the traxxas slash. stampedes have really bad handling and cant handle brushless. Slash is the way to go.

A Slash is a Stampede- they both handle the same because the frames are the same height off the ground- the only thing that may be different is the suspension arm length, meaning, track width.

The stampedes CG is way taller than the slash and especially when the monster truck tires are installed. and you were right with the different suspension,arm length, etc.... but it doesn't handle like a slash.

The two truck's chassis are mounted at the top of the front bulkhead and the top of the transmission with braces going downward. The only things affecting CG are the tire size and the suspension setup. The only legitimate difference between the two is the suspension arm width and possibly chassis length.

Really cool tube frame. Is brass tubing strong enuff for bashing?

I am currently in the process of making a tube chassis with brass tubing based around a GorillaMaxx tranny (brushless) and txt-1 axles.

My problem and question is how am I suposed to lay the tubing out and get it to stay in place? Do I make a jig and if so, out of what?

@KenpachiMoto brass is as strong as i gets! But heavy! however it will solder or brase well so u get fine joints. U need tomake jigs for any chassis construction. U can use any material, no set rules, as long as i get the job done! The jig making can be a considerable job, and its sucsess separates the beginner from the pro!

I think thak u r righ, i had like 3 electric cars even one 4WD, but the fact that the batteries or battery pack have a very short enjoyable time, i turn to methanol.

If u buy a used gas RC at a good price, the mainteinance is cheap, dosnt have to be for racing. They run fast as hell. And you can try mods on all components

In the electric side, a powerfull motor give you more power but less time in batterie.

After all is a hobby for enjoy in every level mate. :))

You can't do brushless with a Clod (... technically, you can but you would need to use two brushless controllers ... which gets real expensive ... a pair of 12x1 motors and a good Li-Po will allow your clod to fly all day long without frying your ESC ... trust me).

If your dead set of a brushless setup ... then get a TXT-1, Defiance TXT-1 race chassis, Li-Po, and top it off with a Mamba Max system ... ultra fast setup :O)
