The only value I see here is, as the rep stated, for extended travel where electricity is not available to recharge the device.
It's arguably worse for the environment because the device needs to be manufactured, distributed, etc... If you want something better for the environment, plug your phone into the wall and lets focus on nuclear and geothermal energy generation to power the nation's grid.
I'm detecting sarcasm. I suggest you get informed on the matter instead of posting ignorant comments on a public forum.
France gets 80% of its electricity from nuclear power yet I don't see any glowing Frenchmen or hear of Chernobyls every year (or ever for that matter).
Modern nuclear technology is very safe, uses a natural energy source, and produce waste which can now be processed and reused. There's very little impact on the environment compared to other generation methods.
yay just what we need to make less things run on battery while we still are running out of fuel why don't these same engine res just make more things work on battery or at least make batteries last for longer =D
This is awesome

This one spells disaster all over it.
Wait until the cell leaks, or a children gets poisoned by carbon dioxide (i.e. use the phone in bed) or even worse it catches fire.
Not to mention the airlines allowing a fuel cell onto a plane will be something like mission impossible.
Nah, this is going to stay only a prototype.
