Look closely at the actor playing Caesar Rodney (with the bandage on his face). It's the same actor who played McNair in the original Broadway production, and the film version, William Duell. He wasn't on the 1997 revival CD but he had replaced that actor by the time of this performance. Cool bit of trivia.
I agree; I'm in a production of it right now, and despite being a product of the time in which it was written (portraying proto-Democrats as "conservatives" for instance) it provides a mostly true depiction of the birth of this country while being truly entertaining piece of theater.
@inspector1stclass It'd be more correct to say that there were no parties at the time, period. The beginnings of political parties in the US came about with the debate over the constitution (Federalists and Anti-federalists), which is quite a bit later in US history.
rebsojr3 - This is the Tony Awards performance, meaning that they only did this one song to give the audience a quick peek at one of the musicals that was up for awards.
If you mean the normal 1997 Broadway version, then I highly doubt that anyone from 1997 actually recorded it. Digital video cameras didn't exist, and the regular video cameras where about as convenient as bricks.
END THE FED!

Why isn't Brent Spiner doing this?

One of the most unique and original musicals ever....and maybe one of the more underrated musicals as well.
I didn't like it at first, but it warms up to you after repeated viewings.

The parties were different back then. I don't think that you can really attach either side of the issue to one modern party or another.
