I don't understand why people think homosexuality is a sin. Didn't Jesus abolish those kinds of things as sin, for instance eating bacon is a sin in the Bible, but Jesus said it's not what goes into the mouth but what comes out that's a sin. To say bacon is evil is arbitrary and is based on corporeal law-based morality. To say two consenting adult human beings who are in love with each other are sinners just because their junk is the same is a corporeal law-based reasoning. Explain.
@WanderLink homosexuality is a sin because it is rebellion against God because if God wanted you to be with a man he would've made you a woman and you can't be connected to God if you aren't living for him. First, your Bible is a wrong translation. There's no such word as homosexuality in that time, so any Bible that uses that word is a wrong translation. Second, you're guilty of the same thing the unbelievers of Christ were guilty of, and that is citing the word of former men of God from days of yore as a legalistic finality, rather than listening to the Holy Spirit of Christ on what is good by the life affirming spirit of it. @WanderLink It is in the ESV version. The KJV says effeminate and the NIV says "men who have sex with men" and it is put in the list of the sexually immoral and the drunkards and theives. @MajickDemoniack true, but a three year old who had never had any religion explained to him before? I have an easier time believing that than some guy who might have just been hallucinating or something. How could you tell your parents about something they knew you knew nothing of before?
@MajickDemoniack I know a kid who died and came back saying he met Jesus before he knew who Jesus was. That's just one of the instances I'm referring to. And God doesn't stop satan because satan has free will. Everytime someone does something wrong, atheists blame God. It's not his fault, it's whoever did the bad deed's fault.

@MajickDemoniack I got along great with a kids in high school who were atheist and muslim, I've had a friend since 7th grade who is jewish. I am not prejudice, and I believe because of more than just faith. I've had further proof, the kind of proof an atheist would say was luck, coincidence, or a lie.

Atheists always think Christians have a feeling of superiority because of our beliefs. It's not that we think we're better than people of other religions, it's just that we can't betray our beliefs by saying we believe another religion might be right. we believe our God is the only God and other ones are just false ones. That's why we hold our God as the most important one.

He pays for our sins for us so we don't have to go to hell (As if we've never sinned). If we don't we have to pay of our sins ourselves by spending eternity in hell.
@srsguynogames Also, many, many people other than Christians get the "personal proof" you call it, but since atheists don't believe, they explain it as coincidence or luck. Christians know otherwise, but when we talk about our personal proof, atheists say "Well why are Christians they only ones who get it?."

@MrEmeraldfusion The Bhagavad Gita says Krishna Arose from the Dead after a hunting accident, Horus after being poisoned by a scorpion, Dionysus had folk-tales about being crucified and resurrected, and Mithras after being entombed. Zeitgiest was nonsense, taking what are only basal similarities (Dying for the sins of mankind and then being raised) and manipulating it with an anti-christian agenda. I don't have an agenda, I just don't buy one Religion over any other.
@MajickDemoniack -I am going to focus on Krishna according to the death of Krishna he was shoot with an arrow died, and buried while his mortal body remained,(his spirit ascended to heaven) no bodily resurrection. Is that what you're talking about?
@MrEmeraldfusion The copy I have states a bodily resurrection. One of us might have a copy with a flaw in the translation, as this is common I've found (I've heard many arguments over the Quran caused by a mistranslated Copy).
@MajickDemoniack -I got my reference from wikipedia which was from a translation of MAHAPRASTHANIK PARVA. Can you give me a reference of Krishna having a bodily resurrection? And can you show it was written down before the first century not later?

@MrEmeraldfusion Really? Wait a minute - O.K., I just looked up some things on Krishna on the web, apparently whether or not his resurrection was bodily is a matter of debate. The verse can be interpreted mutliple ways, so bodily is only a possibility - I acknowledge the point you've made is correct (Good job). As for Horus, the Egyptian Book of the Dead's book of spells contains many refrencing Horus as having risen from the dead, as this is an invocation necessary to make in Egyptian Religion.

@MrEmeraldfusion No, I didn't, the stories of Horus's resurrection date back to 2000 BC, and the Egyptian Book of the dead dates back to AT LEAST 2000 B.C., probably much further since it drew upon the beliefs of the Egyptians prior. Go buy the book, read it, THERE'S the source.
@MrEmeraldfusion Well, first check out those books, you could probably find them at your local library - Dionysus is where I start to rely on Books about Greek Folklore, and books on how Paganism influenced Christianity, so those might be (From your point of veiw) biased sources - but I did read at least 75 percent of the King James' Bible, as well as the entirety of one that had been put into modern English, so it seems to me that to have you check out the BG and EBOTD would only be fair =:)
@MrEmeraldfusion Still from a book I own on Pagan/Christian comparisons, so you may find that to be biased, but some (not all) of the information has been replicated on freethoughpedia, so you could check there. Zoroastrianism was one of the first Monotheistic Religions. I can't post links but look for the similarities between Mithra and Christ online, they are there, and books by Historians/scholars are my primary sources, and I have read books by Christian Authors such as 'Mere Chrisitanity'.

In India you'd probably find the same of Krishna, and of course Horus, Mithra and Dionysus are seldom worshipped in today's world. Just check the books, dude. But atheists are too high and mighty to see what an amazing thing that is and that we don't deserve it. They think we all should have been able to go to Heaven in the first place. We can't. Someone has to pay for our sins. That's what Jesus did for us.
Atheists seem to think that if you're a good person, you should be allowed to go. That's not the way it works. If we were good kids but we disrespected our parents, they'd punish us and we'd deserve it.
If we do those things, we get to go to Heaven. If not, we don't. Atheists don't get it. We don't deserve to go to Heaven no matter what we do. Even if we get saved. But God allows us to go if we accept Jesus.
We are imperfect. We can't start out in Heaven because it is perfect and we are not. If we started out in Heaven, we'd ruin it. God put us here to see if we could follow his laws and accept Christ.

The day us atheists are "judged," IF there is a god, then we don't have to worry, because logically, an all loving, all benevolent, all just god would NEVER send people to hell for something so petty and trivial as not believing in something without evidence. Or at least the "personal proof" you Christians seemed to be blessed with.

He came to save you from your lost condition. You rejected Him. But your conscience won't allow you to let go completely. Your sin convicts you down deep inside. So you make stuff up as an appeasement, something to allay the guilt - you create your own god, your own idol. Not necessary - He loves you.

I don't understand why people think homosexuality is a sin. Didn't Jesus abolish those kinds of things as sin, for instance eating bacon is a sin in the Bible, but Jesus said it's not what goes into the mouth but what comes out that's a sin. To say bacon is evil is arbitrary and is based on corporeal law-based morality. To say two consenting adult human beings who are in love with each other are sinners just because their junk is the same is a corporeal law-based reasoning. Explain.

The verse can be interpreted mutliple ways, so bodily is only a possibility - I acknowledge the point you've made is correct (Good job). As for Horus, the Egyptian Book of the Dead's book of spells contains many refrencing Horus as having risen from the dead, as this is an invocation necessary to make in Egyptian Religion.

Zoroastrianism was one of the first Monotheistic Religions. I can't post links but look for the similarities between Mithra and Christ online, they are there, and books by Historians/scholars are my primary sources, and I have read books by Christian Authors such as 'Mere Chrisitanity'.

The day Jesus comes back, all non-believers are going to say "Wow! How wrong we all were!" I used to be an Agnostic until Jesus showed himself to me, and the reason I know was because my circumstances were more than ironic... there had to have been a higher power surrounding those. It's all about FAITH.

@Thelordisgayandmerry I don't like to argue, all I am saying is that there are so many mysteries surrounding us that to say there is no God is a lie. How do you not know? All of you so called "non-believers" seem to be content with I can do it all on my own. Honestly, you can't. But you're to thick skulled to listen to facts. God is there. He will forever exist, and I will go to Heaven when Jesus comes back. Strength comes from God. Without God I would have died on my 17th birthday.

and 4. "Money does not buy happiness" Money is the ONLY way to live. You have a house because of money. You can not build your own house without a permit and supplies which also COST money. The only way to be happy, is to have money. Maybe not a lot, but if you have enough to get by it is okay, maybe not HAPPY though.

1. "Abortion is repulsive." Abortion is removing the FETUS. Which is not a child. We kill cows and chickens and other animals much the same way.
2. "Homosexuality is not normal or natural." Yeah, it might not seem RIGHT, but it there. And one can not exist without the other. Deal with it.
3. "Fighting evil with evil is not right." So, if a man comes into your house while you are away and murders your entire family, it's okay. Nothing wrong with that.

Matt 2:23: Says Jesus was prophesied to be a "Nazarene", except there is no such prophecy in the Old Testament. It doesn't exist.
Matt 27:9: Quotes a prophecy from Jeremiah. There is no such prophecy in Jeremiah.
John 2:17: Quotes a psalm as a prophecy of Jesus. Except the psalm is clearly talking about a SINNER. Was Jesus a sinner?
Matt 2:14: Says Jesus was prophesied to come out of Egypt. The 'prophecy' quoted is talking about Israel (Jacob), not Jesus.

BTW, Jesus himself wasn't all that pleased with "religion" either. You must believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is Christianity. John 3:16-21 spells it out in a nutshell. If you create your own god, you're creating your own religion. Only you're admitting that you just make stuff up.

@MrBOSSLUIS Making up your own god isn't the problem really - it's the symptom. The problem is rejecting the savior. You're already lost, you were to begin with, before you made up your own god. He came to save you from your lost condition. You rejected Him. But your conscience won't allow you to let go completely. Your sin convicts you down deep inside. So you make stuff up as an appeasement, something to allay the guilt - you create your own god, your own idol. Not necessary - He loves you.

Come up with another way - any other way - or no way at all - it is not truth - IT'S MADE UP. Jesus said that you must be born again. Its kind of like a toothache, but not painful lol but if you have ever had a toothache you know that you couldn't touch it, could see it, but you felt it and its the same with God, even though you are not able to touch him or see him physically, you believe that he is there and you can feel his presence!!

Just read it and I will let you see for yourself about faith and believing. Romans 10:17 So then Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
