  • C'mon Glen! We want Only A Matter Of Time!

  • what dubble base machine you have? thaks°

  • cymbal much? ;D

  • Are all your cymbals Paiste? I really like the sound!

Awesome job, your fills and little runs across the cymbals and toms were incredible, dude!

I must say I didn't like the edit for the Lie outtro, probably because the Space Dye Vest reference in this song was the thing that really gave me chills and made it unbelievable for me.

  • @RaidonSama thats the way DT does the mirror live now, which kinda sucks and the space dye vest part is killer

  • The groove is really great. The guitar is the same but the drum beat changes the whole feeling! It's awesome!

  • Fukking awesome set up there bro...awesome cover too! wat kinda ride to u got?

  • @Revenge8701 Thanks! The ride in the video is a Paiste Dimensions 22" Medium Ride.

  • @gspot27 oh ok thxs :)

  • very nice...you missed a couple things, but no big deal...Do you have a group you play with?

  • Nice cover :)

  • Great Job Man!

  • que marca es el china?? gracias

  • On the right is a Paiste 2002 18" China.

  • Great job man! I really like your own little things you added here and there.

  • What headphones are those? Bose?

  • Yes, they are Bose Tri-Ports.

  • Hmm, I see.

No offense dude, but I think Bose isn't exactly the best brand for headphones at that price point.

But you bought it...so just letting you know.

  • I am an old audiophile so I know what is quality. These phones sound great to me. They aren't studio monitors or anything but they get the job done. They were given to me by my mother about 8-9 years ago for my birthday.

  • Thank you for your response. I respect your opinion, as all people have different tastes when it comes to good sound.

  • sickkk. i love this song

  • someone's rich

  • Nope, I am definitely NOT rich, just resourceful.

  • Too many cymbols *heart attack*

    LMFAO Good job man!

  • wOw! great job there glen!! I wish you where here in Seattle I'd love to jam with you! Have you done any of kings x stuff? awesome job, don't worrie about the audio, its not like you're working in a studio. and if a guitar makes a comment like smoc9347 he must be just starting out. I play guitar and I'll tell ya you rock! keep up the good work! peace

  • good work! :) Hmmm cymbals, is it Paiste? Sounds amazing.

  • good

  • isint puppys on acid some song

  • Puppys on Acid was the name of the intro to The Mirror before they wrote the rest of The Mirror. They played Puppys on Acid as the intro to a few different songs on the Images and Words tour, most notable Take The Time. If you watch the Live in Tokyo video/dvd they play it as the intro to Take The Time.

  • Hey, give no substance to any negative comments. You play very well, regardless of the audio quality....and you appear to be a very "cymbal-minded guy" LOL!!

Anyway, good job and nice kit!

  • Am I only one who thinks this sounds like shit? The cymbals are laughable. OK so I'm just a guitar player, but someone make him stop !!

  • I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times more, the drum audio from my drums is through the camcorder. It's as good as it can be - through a camcorder that cost less than $200. I guess my playing has no bearing on your comments. Either way, it doesn't matter. It is what it is. If you don't like the sound, don't watch.

  • 5:29 has got to be the most powerful downbeat in the history of existence

  • Beutiful beat and drum composition on this song! Great drum cover!

  • wow really good. i cant get my foot to go as fast i want it to go when you need to do 3 in a row. (only got one pedal so double bass is off the hook right away)

do you have a certain technique to speed up your bass drumming? i've only been drumming since 3 months now so i want to learn a lot. i do play this song (as you could read above) so do you have any tips?

The drum fill is way better then the original (at about 4 minutes?)

  • BRO!!!! You made my week!!! So fuking bitchin' I can't say enuff!!! Thanx yo!!!

  • Thanks! You know, no one has ever noticed that I sped up the song when I did this. I created a special mp3 cut and sped up The Mirror. :)

  • very nice

  • Kick ass job, mate!!!

  • great job, like always

  • Nice headphones! i have a set of my own and they are perfect for what your doing! what kind of cymbals do you use? they sound super thin.

  • nice!

  • I my opnion you really can adapt Portnoy's style to your own. I can see it specially on the fills, or what he calls his "bag of tricks".

    Great job!

  • Cool!! Respect! Well done!

  • why does eveyone choose this song, do panic attack or another son, by the way u did ok at best ! a lot of drums so at 1st i thought u would play it very well, but it was just ok, not very tight .

  • I have done Panic attack. Let's see a video from you.

  • lousiest ever!

  • @tantroom

Let's see you do better douche!! Oh, that's right! You only talk shit and not back it up! What a prick!!

As for the video, great job!! DT is some wicked hard stuff but you played very well. My Bose Triports broke on me. Damn plastic tab snapped and gluing it together is a bear because it's at the bend. Oh well.

  • u did it very very very good! Excellent song and excellent job!! YEAH!

  • dude, great drum kit. Bass drum sounds alittle flimsy though, you should probably get e-mad heads or something or perhaps tighten the head. Great playing as well, I love this song.

  • love this song and you did a great job. well done.

  • im wondering about the two drums on the far left. they look like 14" and 16" toms.

  • 13" and 15"

  • The Mirror isnt that hard..Im only 15 i can do that. (I play drums) But hey! Good drumming!! =D

  • Yeah, the intro will get peoples attention. You might experiment with using a program like Audacity to cut the song down, or add the Lie outro to it like I did.

    Good luck!

  • D3adMetal... im also 15 and i can play a lot of DT songs. i dont thing age has anything to do with it. ive only been playing a little over a year and with practice and patience i can play a lot of DT songs lol.

  • i want an opinion from a pro like u. i sign up for a talent show and i play along to a song. last time i played Tom Sawyer by Rush and got third place. What dream theater song do you think would be best for Talent show?

  • Something not too long. Overture 1928 or a shortened version of As I Am. There are so many possibilities.

  • Thx =D

  • dude do you live in atlanta play with me im goin to atlanta institute of music pleeeeeeeeze

  • If Portnoy leaves Dream Theater (hope that never happens) you are the guy to step in;)

  • Thanks dude!

  • Haha, i like listening to the song better when u are playing the drums....gj

  • very good

  • i love it

ur rockin better than Mike himself :D

could you make a video of Subdivisions?

I;m curious to see you playin' it

    :D

  • man... how much would everything in that kit cost?

  • fabulous job man

  • gday mate nice drumming played it well :)

  • Thank you!!!

  • very nice :D

  • awesome!!!

  • thx

  • AWSOME

  • Thanks!

  • You play good but too hard, I mean, you dont use your wrists but your whole arms, that might hurt you eventually.

LOL, there're so many cymbals and drums, why dont you try with less?, a good friend told me once:

"The best drummer is that one who can be able to play a lot in the best way, and using the less quantity of drums and cymbals possible".

    That sounds reasonable.

Take a look to Nathaniel Townsley, or Antonio Sanchez.

    See ya'!..

    Jesus.

  • Thanks for watching. I played a 5 piece kit for 10 years before adding additional toms. At this point, I could do most of what I do with a 4 piece kit, a few cymbals and a dbl pedal. I truly belive what you said but I am also a believer in more is more like one of my heros, Mike Portnoy.

I'll look up these guys you mentioned.

    Thanks!

  • dude! it is amazing!

PS: looking to your other videos it seems that you really like Awake, that's my favortie album, keep rocking!

  • Thank you very much! Actually, Octavarium is my favorite. I am going back and exploring some of their earlier music.

  • Yeah... your good man, im planning on having a Mike Portnoy kit :P nice work with your kit though, youve done it well..Good Luck

  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

  • FUCKIN' GREAT!

  • Much appreciated.
