i dont know personally this sir. but i really like him. cause he does what he likes. i really got some things into my mind when i saw him laughing.great respect.
Great! I hope I can do that too when I reached that age ;)
At present I practice with a 95lbs@28" Kassai Bear at distances from 30m up to 70m (approx. 33 up to 76yd) am I'm getting better every week. By the way, I draw this bow to 32" so the draw-weight should be "a bit" higher then.
Nevertheless, great respect and high regards for the oldtimer. His arms shall never weaken.
excellent shot. im not sure what the argument here is about. anyways, hungarian MIDDLE AGE bow is nonsense. there is only traditional hungarian bow which is like 5000 years old, or? sorry for the stupid question, i just started looking into this.
what? poor mans bow.i have a 120LB yew bow that can shoot a arrow 400 yards plus.yew is all gone now yes.composite bows are much better on horse.but power is almost the same.
they used long bows because of the power and lenght they could shoot plus here in the uk its very hilly so shooting arrows off the top of some of the hills you can imagine the distance they could shoot from
he said 70-80 yards away and there is now way in hell that is true, with an eighty lb bow, i am pretty sure the arch of the arrow wouldn't be that high. I have a 50lb martin and my bow has a flatter tajectory than your bow does
The arrows he shoots would make 2 or 3 of the arrows you shoot. The weight, length, sectional density of an actual fighting arrow are entirely different from a modern short range hunting and hobby bow. Your Martin and it's light skinny arrows would have been considered a child's plaything 500+ years ago
man youre right. the thing that I hat the most that youve got these short arms of the compound bow, and when extending it, arms don t move but the string does. And anyway, it looks like a robotic things, full of holes and strings and mechanical things. blah
thet guy can shoot for sure! Man, that was a tremendous shot. can u tell me the distance? but in NORMAL european units (meters) :D thanks

why didnt the english use compsite bows..all they used were yew long bows why?
5tonyvvvv 2 years ago
because this used on horse, must be compact size. the english mans have no horse they not need to make complicated bow like this.

ive used linen string on a bow of 110# it was a beautiful string to shoot, but had a limited life on the bow.

the same as a modern string, but using the flamish twist technique.
you may also be interested to know that linendoesn't stretch either and has good cast.
and is simular to fastflight in being able to keep its brace hight.
but as i said has a limited life on the bow and needs regular maintenance care.

do you shoot 1/2" 32" long medieval war arrows weighing 60grams from your bow ?
because this is what the chap is shooting here.

Nice shot, but if you want to do that regularly, watch your reference point and come to full draw.
Its the one thing we all often forget.
