Both Xena and Gabrielle died multiple times in the series.

Xena isn't gone forever. Gabrielle will return to bring her back-

due to some type of visitation (like Marcus visited Xena) or because

a god told her to, or because of some situation that only Xena could

help with.

Everytime I see the end of the final episode my heart clenches and I want to cry. I've seen it many many times and I still get the same strong reaction everytime. I wish they hadn't killed her and instead ended it on a happy note.

I remember crying like crazy watching the last 2 minutes of it. This was my teenage years...great memories of the show!

The fact of Xena dying in the final episode wasn't what enraged the fans for the most part...it was having her die for a stupid reason (to get to Yodoshi, when we knew that earlier she had "died" to get to Mephistopheles), having her remain dead for an even stupider one, for listening to Akemi over Gabrielle, with the result that Gabrielle was left alone in the world. Oh, and Rob Tapert a few months earlier saying he wasn't going to kill them (X&G) again.

Xena only *thought* that the spirits of Higuchi would never find peace if she was returned to life because Akemi told her so...and (how convenient!) the two people who might have said that Akemi was wrong had just been killed off.

Also, Akemi insisted on spending the valuable time to give Gabrielle that ginormous tattoo, which delayed Gab from getting Xena's body, burning it, and dumping the ashes in the fountain, LONG before Yodoshi could have shown up to make that tat useful.

Its a tragic after all. Robert must be crazy to kill the hero. You know, you hurt lots of fans' hearts. That sorrow prevails longer. Anyway you created xena beautifully. And thanx a lot for that. And please, please,please start xena again. Please I beg you do it before they grow old. I wish you will have the strength and mind focus to start new series of xena. i just finished watching the series, and i can tell you i cried. it was an amazing ending even thgh i didnt want it to end that way...but i loved the kissing scene, very beautiful ^_^

The first few times I watched this when i got the DVDs I cried...just reliving the memories growing up watching Xena & just being in my own world for an hour. It was sad to see the show end but Xena will always live on!!

I feel sad about the ending, but then I remember an episode (set in the future) in which Xena reincarnate in Joxer's body, and she is together with Gab. so it means that they will certainly be together in all their future lifes, and that's make me feel less disappointed =)

it sucks that xena had to die but it made sence because xena and gabrielle did all they could together. and lucy and renee worked hard for that show. the series was ok all in all but no were near as good as it was the first season. besides gabrielle is able to take care of herself now and she should. i think a spinoff for gabrielle and iolaus would have ben good.

Akemi lied, and all those souls weren't depending upon her being really dead. Akemi never was trustworthy. I think that Xena got hoodwinked by a cute manipulative young evil girl... who had an emotional "hook" from the past. Xena would have NEVER left Gabrielle like that. NEVER!!!

Agreed! I'm guessing Akemi was jealous of Xena and Gabby's relationship.I bet she thought Xena wouldn't be able to move on after her death. So seeing them together made her want to split them up.

If it was a trick then I think that they actually had until next sunset, therefore it really was Xena on that boat and Gabby was holding and empty urn out of sentimental reasons (dunno which ones lol).

And it was all a trick so they could go and live out their lives in peace.

I never saw the end of the series so untill now I didn't know they killed off Xena. True lot of Fans are dissapointed with the end of the series. but at the same time it was different then say the Heros walking off into the sunset. which is the normal thing to end a series (more or less)

I was upset that she died but Xena knew if she came back the spirits wouldnt be at ease. If I was Gabrielle I probably would have been selfish just this once and brought her back to life for her. Xena always saved Gabby,,so Gabby should have gotten a chance. Oh maybe they could have died in each others arms!

Im a huge fan of the series, and a movie would be a dream come true for thousands of fans, but for me a great Xena movie would be impossible without the amazing Kevin Smith (Ares). Dont get me wrong Id love to see Xena and Gabrielle on the big screen. I just cant see anyone except Kevin portray the Great God of War (and the chemistry between him and Lucy was amazing)

I can almost see why they would want to end the show. Mind you I loved it with all my heart (xenaholic) but they did it all. However, HOW they ended it was bull. almost NO xena/gab together in the last two eps. And gab going on alone? they should have been able to die together. I still want a movie!
