Thanks for your quick reply. I hadn't thought my posting had been successful because there was no indication that it had gone through. All that appeared were the words (in red) "Comment Pending Approval". To me, that means that I have to wait until it has been approved. I guess that interpretation is incorrect. Confusing, though.
I just got a bunch of 5, 6, 10, 12, 16, and 20-hole flower pouches and grow bags. I've filled them with the growing medium (1/3 Vermiculite, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 soil) and hung them on the fence. Now is planting time. what types of vegetables have been successfully grown in such bags? I've seen strawberries in close quarters, but I have to wonder what else would be possible. carrots? turnips? egg plant? cabbage? broccoli? cauliflower? mint? peppers? string beans? cauliflower? Swiss Chard?
@QUABLEDISTOCFICKLEPO we agree that strawberries work well in flower pouches. We have also had great success with dwarf beans, dwarf runner bean ‘Hestia’ and trailing tomatoes. We found herbs successful so mint would work really well. We also had success with ‘cut & come again’ lettuce 'Salad Bowl' and also dwarf peas and radishes. Cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower would not work well in a flower pouch - carrots and turnips would also struggle, producing poor crops. Wishing you luck!
