Still one of my favorite nwobhm somehow i missed this song until now though. Great stuff awesome bass solo in the middle there and of course their typical killer riffs
Lars Ulrich admites that the intro riff to this song is a direct rip off for Metallica's Whiplash. I mean in the sence that Metallica ripped this riff off.
@XxXChizelXxX How so? I have ears, myself. My words on music are a hell of a lot worthier than his. I never played on an album called "St. Anger". I'm gold compared to that piece of crap.
@UrukTheRed So you have never made an album, but you think you are better than someone who has sold millions of cd's, made millions of dollars. Im guessing your not as good as you think you are. Average musicians are a dime a dozen these days. Nothing special at all. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it automatically bad. It just means you don't like it, nothing more nothing less. Maybe you should consider getting over yourself lol.
@XxXChizelXxX What the hell are you talking about? I'm not allowed to have my own opinion? Selling millions of albums makes somebody good? Lars IS an average "musician" (drummers aren't real musicians). You have no idea how good/bad my music is do you? You've made assumptions about a total stranger. I voiced my opinion about music I've followed my entire life. Maybe you should get over yourself.
@UrukTheRed And all i did was have an opinion as well. And didn't you say you were "gold" and "My words on music are a hell of a lot worthier than his". You created my assumption. So if you cant handle a little healthy criticism, then don't through your hat into a public arena. I grew up in the 80's so i am more than familiar with this type of music. And there is one thing we do agree on and that is drummers aren't real musicians lol.
@XxXChizelXxX You're taking my words out of context. Metallica were Godly in the 80's, but they destroyed all their credibility with later albums like "St. Anger". At this point, the bum down the street is gold compared to Ulrich. I've met plenty of music fans from the 80's who don't have half the knowledge I have regarding the subject.
All I'm getting at is that Ulrich's words are no better than mine as I am a guitarist (musician), and Lars is a drummer. The fact that he's sold records...
Respond to this video... ... is irrelevant. It doesn't make his words worth any more or less. All I said was that the song comparison isn't a good one as neither song sounds like the other. I haven't met another person better than myself at pointing out similarities in different songs. Maybe that was Ulrich's attempt, to emulate it, but it's not very much like it. It's like comparing "Blackened" to "Ace Of Spades". Well, at least you didn't argue the drummer/musician point!
@UrukTheRed Well I gave you a little fact (whether its is accurate or not doesn't really matter at the point we at now) that you didn't know in your great wisdom lol. I think I would give your knowledge/cockiness a run for its money. And in all your great wisdom one question has eluded you....You didn't ask me if I think it sounds like whiplash. All I did was tell the world what Lars said. And really its up to the individual on what they hear in any song. One man's trash, is others treasure.
@XxXChizelXxX No, you made assumptions based on a single comment I made. I was just saying that it didn't sound like it, regardless of whether or not you thought so, or Lars thought so, for that matter. I'm not doubting that he said it either. It's like, "oh 'Mama Said' was an idea James got from Venom's 'Black Metal' " - of course you're thinking "what!? how!?". That's all I was getting at. Of course my analogy is exaggerated, but you get the picture.
@UrukTheRed No...you cant tell me when I make my assumptions. Seriously get over yourself....I made the assumption after you where telling me how good you were. You know... how your gold and shit. Anyway you take so long to come up with a sentence, I forget what we were talking about. Cya
@XxXChizelXxX ok I totally understand and agree with your side of this argument, but the only "Drummer" that isn't a musician is the little shithead in slipknot running around and hitting a trashcan. drummers are badass! check out Lamb of God, Death, tool, Slayer, Dream Theater, and Anthrax. Those drummers are for sure musicians.
@DETHFAN18ALL2 I understand the talent of drummers its ok. I was just stirring the other guy up. I have been listening to those bands for years. I like the drums....its my second fav instrument.
@XxXChizelXxX lol. ya fuck him. hes a false metal dipshit. everybody thinks they can drum better than Lars but honestly I think hes amazing even if hes kinda annoying in interviews.
@DETHFAN18ALL2 Totally agree dude. He is real annoying in some of those older interviews. I went to the Death Magnetic tour and had a real good view of Lars....he was very impressive
|m| great one |m| :)
